Hi! You can already merge different families, and you can even only transfer a few members of one family to another family. I just made a small guide since this seems to cause a lot of confusion to beginner players.
As for the second question, this is a feature that has been very request here and on Discord. Kjun acknowledge it during the brainstorms and said they were looking at it with the devs, so it’s likely to come at some point!
