basically, my entire game is unresponsive and I cannopt click on anything, restarting the game didn’t help. both gpu and cpu running normally. the last thing i’ve done was adjust the animation quality and maximum idle family capacity, but even after returning the settings to what they were and restaring the game, the game is still frozen and the save file corrupt
Can you try an emergency rescue of the zoi ?
It’s a longshot but if the freezing is because of the zoi, using the cheat to emergency rescue her might unfreeze your game (or allow you to increase time from paused (as you are now) to say 1.0 or faster.

Assuming you can get to the game options, try resetting the options to default (Game Options screen, bottom left). Also clear the PSO cache (Game Options > Graphics > PSO Cache).
After this, start a new game to check that all works. (Without mods. You said you have none, so you are good here)
As a last resort if nothing works, you can backup your saved games, textures etc, and try a complete reinstall. Then copy over your saved games.

I never had crashes before, until today’s update. The game starts normally, then after a minute it freezes.
I’ve deleted the PSO cache, it still kept happening.
Then I started disabling mods, running without mods → no crash. Then started enabling some little by little, I had a meow store → price 0 mod, and seems this was the reason my game was getting stuck.
For anyone having crashes after today’s update, try disabling all your mods and see if the game responds. If it does, then maybe one of your mods even if VALIDATED might be messing with something they recently updated and it’s causing your game to crash.
I just had a big spike of lag though, but it recovered. Something’s going on. Nvm it crashed again LOL
My game randomly froze after i’ve enabled smartzoi even though i’ve been playing with it fine this past year. Maybe try disabling it to see if it works?
After resetting the settings to default my game stopped crashing and yes smart Zoi was disabled on default. I haven’t enabled it back, I’ll test tomorrow maybe that’s what’s causing the new crash
Can confirm that smart zoi is one of the culprits of the game freezing / crashing.
I just tested:
Smart Zoi Off (settings) → No freeze / crash.
Smart Zoi On (settings) + Off on live mode → Freeze / Crash happens.
Smart Zoi On (settings) + On on live mode → Freeze / Crash happens.
I don’t know if this could be the reason, but I have a newborn in my game, not sure if that could cause Smart Zoi to crash? Anyway, smart zoi is cooked rn, turn it off on Game Settings.
