1. Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision System
-
Remove Clipping: Vehicles should no longer pass through ZOIs.
-
Accident Triggers: ZOIs can be hit by speeding cars while crossing the street, or voluntarily throw themselves into traffic.
2. Emergency Response & NPC Reactions
-
Bystander/Driver AI: NPCs or the driver involved should react by calling the authorities.
-
Ambulance Dispatch: An ambulance arrives at the scene to transport the injured or deceased ZOI to the hospital.
3. Health States & Aftermath
-
Minor Accidents: The driver gets out of the car, apologizes, and exchanges insurance information with the pedestrian.
-
Severe Injuries: The ZOI is hospitalized. Upon discharge, they are given visual injury states (e.g., wearing a cast, using crutches, or riding a wheelchair).
-
Hospital Visits & Cast Doodles: While a ZOI is hospitalized, friends and family can come visit them. It would be amazing if they could also write messages or doodle on the ZOI’s cast!
-
Fatalities: If the ZOI dies, a proper funeral event is triggered.
4. Legal, Financial & Social Dynamics
-
Medical Bills: The at-fault driver is financially responsible for the hospital fees.
-
Court System: The struck pedestrian can choose to accept an apology or take the driver to court.
-
Dynamic Relationships: Bonus idea - Adding a slight chance for the two involved parties to fall in love during the hospital visits or court proceedings!
5. Crime & Police Chase Mechanics (For “Outlaw” Playthroughs)
-
No Instant Jail: Remove the mechanic where a ZOI is automatically teleported to jail after committing a hit-and-run.
-
Physical Arrests: If the player stays at the scene, police cars arrive to physically arrest them.
-
Car Chases: If the player chooses to flee, it triggers a police pursuit.
-
Evasion & Collateral Damage: Players should have the chance to outrun the cops, with the realistic risk of hitting more ZOIs or causing a pile-up during the chase.
