v0.8.0 Situational Looks – Do the 5 outfit slots actually rotate, or only the Signature Look is used?

Hey everyone,

With the v0.8.0 update, I’ve been playing around with the new Situational Looks feature in Create a Zoi. I set up 5 different looks for the Everyday situation, but my Zoi seems to only ever wear the Signature Look — the other 4 outfits just sit there unused.

I assumed the 5 slots would work similarly to The Sims, where the game randomly picks one of your saved outfits each time your Zoi gets dressed. But that doesn’t seem to be happening.

So my question is: are the 5 outfit slots meant to rotate randomly, or are they just saved presets for the player to manually switch between? Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere?

Haven’t been able to find any discussion about this, so I’m wondering if I’m doing something wrong or if this is just how the feature works. Thanks!

Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum!

I was just wondering about this too. When you’re in CAZ, without changing the signature look, you can change to the outfit last selected, then click to complete and the zoi will wear it. They will switch back to the signature one the next day though

Thanks for the reply! I really hope this was intended to work as a random rotation system — I’ve been waiting for this feature for a long time. And honestly, even 5 slots doesn’t feel like enough. Fingers crossed KRAFTON expands on this in a future update!

I haven’t had a lot of time to play in each save game, but I’ve played a couple days in two of them.

In 1, the wife had 3 outfits for everyday when I played last (because I was still working on other design). It’s fun because one of the extra outfits I gave the wife was her “old” outfit from last year. When I saw her wearing it a day after setting up the extra outfits, I was so much more happy and excited about the feature!

In another game, I have two female characters that a couple extra outfits to start with. The older female wore one of her extra everyday outfits one morning, but she had that cursed criminal’s mask on, and the only way I know how to take it off is to change outfit, so she didn’t get to stay in her alternate look for long.

I haven’t played that game since, but in both of these situations, an alternate everyday item was seen within the first 1-2 days of adding the other outfits.

I’ll be adding even more today, and I can play test some to see how often they change.

I don’t think it’s intended to be a regular rotation or anything, but a random chance of wearing the other outfits. I wonder if the chance diminishes with each outfit in the category. (By that, I mean I wonder if outfit 5 has a lower chance to be randomly selected than outfit 2.)

I’m satisfied with 5 looks per category but I wouldn’t say no to more either.

I’d rather they just let us choose between them manually from the ‘Change clothes’ menu.

Make sure you set up the Autonomy Options on your zoi (click on the Autonomy symbol in the game) and see that the setting for using situational looks is turned on. You can also control conversation interruptions and the needs autonomy there for the city, family, and person.

You should post this feedback on the Discord when Kjun posts the next Brainstorming thread. It sounds like a pretty easy thing for them to add because it would just be another submenu for any outfit category that has more than one option. Then you select them by the order they are listed (regardless of the one that’s marked as the signature look). Perhaps they should put a little star on the signature look, though, because I know I have a few zois where the signature look got switched to a new style.

That said, I really like it that they choose randomly. Having the ability to choose for them to wear a specific different outfit would be great, but I also love the random element. I love that inviting customized guests to parties can result in seeing them in different outfits than the last party they attended with your zois, for example. I love seeing my zois get up and wear something else, or go to bed in another set of sleepwear, etc. It makes them seem just a little bit more alive, and I am 100% for that! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :ok_hand:

Thanks for sharing your experience! I think there might be a misunderstanding about what I’m referring to. The feature I’m asking about — saving multiple looks within a single situation category (e.g. 5 different outfits all under ‘Everyday’) — was actually added in v0.8.0, so it wouldn’t have been available in earlier playthroughs.

What you may have observed before was the automatic switching between different situation categories (e.g. Everyday → Sleepwear → Sportswear), which has existed for a while. My question is specifically about whether the 5 outfit slots within a single category (like ‘Everyday’) are meant to rotate randomly — and based on my testing, even with ‘Use Situational Outfits’ turned on in Autonomy Options, my Zoi still only wears the Signature Look and ignores the other 4.

That’s actually a valid point, and I understand the frustration with Zois auto-switching into inappropriate outfits (like wearing a tracksuit in freezing weather and catching a cold!). But the issue I’m raising is that the 5 outfit slots don’t even appear in the Change Clothes menu, so manual selection from there isn’t currently possible either. Either way, the system needs more work!

No, I’m talking about the same thing. Please don’t patronize me, I am obviously discussing them changing into their extra outfits in the same category, which you said your characters are not.

I went into the game to check the settings that enable the automatic switicching.

Your game might be bugged. My zois switch between all their everyday outfits, and their sleepwear, and their other categories. I am not talking about them just changing into their normal clothes after exercising, for example.

But I’m sorry for wasting time trying to help you figure out that your game is either bugged or you didn’t click the right settings.
