Hello everyone!!
I’ve been keeping an eye on Custom Furniture tool (as well as the one for creating clothes) for a while now, to see if the team hasn’t forgotten about it and is still adding new features. However, I’ve noticed two things:
- I almost never (if ever) see creators/streamers/players using it.
- It hasn’t received any updates with new parts, even though the game has received a ton of new objects and clothes.
This is a truly amazing tool, so I was wondering why people don’t use it? Is the fact that it works in isolation a problem? (I imagine it is).
I wonder what it would be like if all the objects in the game could be customized in a similar way to what we saw in Project Rene.
Maybe not in the sense of pulling and stretching, but in the sense of changing parts like the Custom Furniture tool proposes. BUT, why would the team spend time making anything if players don’t use this tool? So I decided to create this topic to ask:
Do you use Create Custom Furniture?
- If yes, when and why?
- If no, why?
I believe the answers in this thread can help the team gain a clearer vision of what can be done to make its use more interesting and immersive for players.
In my personal opinion, the biggest problem with this feature today is that it’s “separate” from the purchase mode. That is, it’s in the purchase mode, but as a tool and not as an integration. It exists to allow us to create chairs, tables, lamps, PCs, and beds, but it doesn’t apply to chairs, tables, lamps, PCs, and beds that already exist. This creates a kind of disconnect where cognitively using it seems to require more effort and is less rewarding than choosing a ready-made object (when in theory, or in the ideal systemic view, the opposite should be true). Anyway, I’d love to know more. Your participation is very important, and I’m counting on your feedback to take this topic further!
