Thanks for taking the time to write all of this! ⋆୨୧˚
Trainee life: I think players should be able to choose whether they want to debut in a group or as a solo artist. Staying a trainee forever feels a bit odd, so it would make sense to eventually debut once you’ve trained enough.
Strict schedules: I was thinking more about a packed calendar with longer workdays. Things like dance practice, concerts, fan sign events, meet & greets, interviews, photoshoots, music show performances, brand promotions and eventually becoming a brand ambassador. It could all scale with your fame, so you wouldn’t immediately be getting luxury brand deals as a rookie. It would also be really cool to see celebrity Zois on billboards wearing or advertising the exact brands they’ve signed with.
What trainees actually do: They could spend their time training in vocals, dance, rap, language lessons, fitness, media training, weekly evaluations where the company decides if they’re improving enough to debut after they are the highest level of a trainee.
Company rules: Besides dating, companies could have different levels of strictness. Rules could include attending every scheduled activity, maintaining a certain public image, avoiding scandals, staying physically fit, following social media guidelines, or even having curfews depending on the company. Different companies could have different policies.
Getting caught dating: I imagined it happening if you’re seen flirting, kissing, holding hands, or going on public dates. A paparazzi or gossip system could increase the chances of getting exposed, especially if you’re very famous.
Fan interactions: Fans asking for selfies and autographs, fan calls, fan sign events, receiving fan gifts or letters, livestreams where you interact with fans, and even different fan reactions depending on your reputation. If you treat fans well, your fandom grows stronger. If you repeatedly ignore fans or get into scandals, some fans may lose support you know? And walking out in public may be a hassle depending on your fame level with fans and paparazzi following your Zoi everywhere.
Comeback promotions: I’d love if every comeback felt like an actual event instead of just releasing another song. The company could announce comeback dates weeks in advance, release teaser photos, concept films, highlight medleys, countdown livestreams, music video teasers, and then have you perform on music shows for several in-game days after release. Album sales, fan votes, and music show wins could determine how successful the comeback was.
Variety shows: I’d personally prefer them to be playable. Your answers, personality, and interactions could affect your popularity. (maybe even backlash if you do or say something wrong) But I also think there should be a rabbit hole option for players who just want to skip them.
Public image: I think there could be a public image meter that changes based on your actions. Being respectful, attending schedules, treating fans kindly, donating to charity, and avoiding scandals would improve your image. Missing important events, getting into controversies, or repeatedly breaking company rules could hurt your reputation. Brands might hesitate to work with you, fans could lose interest, or your company could temporarily suspend activities until the controversy dies down. It would add some real strategy and drama instead of everything always going perfectly.
Also, a lot of these ideas are based on the upcoming social media update that’s already planned. I’m mostly expanding on features the developers have already announced and imagining how they could work specifically for K-pop idols, I think the social media update could tie into things like comebacks, fan interactions, public image, brand deals, and even dating rumors really well.
I may have gotten a little too in-depth with some of these ideas.
I just love drama and realism in my games. I think having different challenges, consequences, and memorable moments makes a life sim much more fun than everything always going perfectly. Of course, I’d want most of these features to be optional so everyone can play the way they enjoy.
Thank you!
