Better Genetics and Child Growth System

When children grow up into teens or adults, they receive random personality traits and sometimes random appearance changes that cannot be edited afterward.

I think this system needs improvement.

  • Personality traits should be influenced by the parents instead of being completely random.
  • Genetics should be more detailed, with more physical features inherited from parents.
  • We should be able to edit personality traits and appearance in the Character Studio after a child grows up, just like we can edit other characters.
  • Alternatively, when a child ages up, the game could show a selection screen where players choose the new personality traits instead of assigning them randomly.

Right now, it feels frustrating to spend time raising a child only for them to become a completely random person with traits you cannot change.

A more realistic genetics system and greater control over personality development would make family gameplay much more enjoyable.

I agree that there should be a heritance system. For now, you can bypass some of it with the customzoi cheat (like the looks of the child, etc.) . Here is a small explanation:

Step 1: Enable Cheats in the Game

  1. Go to the PsyCat’s Guide menu located in the bottom-left corner of your screen.
  2. Look for the game settings and toggle Enable Cheats to the “On” position.

Step 2: Retrieve the Zoi’s ID Number

  1. Press Ctrl + Shift + C on your keyboard to open the cheat console command bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Type showZoiInfo true into the console and press Enter.
  3. Look closely at your Zoi; a Entity ID number will now float directly above their head. Write this number down.

Step 3: Enter the Edit Menu (CAZ)

  1. Re-open the cheat console (Ctrl + Shift + C) if it closed.
  2. Type CustomZoi followed by a space and the ID number you just copied (for example: CustomZoi 4567) and press Enter. Do not use brackets or extra symbols.
  3. This command instantly bypasses normal restrictions and loads your character back into the Create-A-Zoi (CAZ) editor.

Step 4: Clean Up the UI

Once you have finished styling your character and return to live gameplay mode, clear the text from your screen:

  • Type showZoiInfo false in the command line to hide the floating ID tags.
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + C again to hide the developer cheat bar.

I understand if you do not want to use any cheats. Sadly, that is currently the only way and we can hope for the dev team to work more on the heritance system.

I agree that it also influences how you raise that baby into a child and adolescent, how they grow up in a family, but basically at first because I understand that maybe we can’t cover that in depth right now. And on the other hand, improving genetics as you mentioned.
