[07.11.2026] Ideas around the Vacation Sytem, Vacation/agenda planner, Tourists Activiteis, Vacation Journal, Stay-Over System, Staycation, Vacation Vouchers & more

I’m really excited that the dev team is improving the vacation syste. I belive this will help connect cities, and with a few additions, it could become a core gameplay feature that ties everything together even more.

Overall, the ideas are aimed at making vacations more meaningful and connected. This includes - ensuring persistent/maintained relationships across cities, a stay-over system, a flexible planner/agenda with smarter group coordination, vacation rewards, and staycations— in general, turning vacations into a core storytelling feature rather than just a temporary activity.

1.Mainting Relationships Across Cities

One of the most important improvements would be maintaining relationships when Zois move/migrate between cities.

  • Zois should not forget friends, family, or partners after migrating (not only when vacationing)
  • long-distance interactions: phone calls, video calls, messages intiatied by your zoi or other out of city zois to conitnue to nurture long distance rlationships
  • Add a “current city” label in the Zoi info panel to help players know which city a zoi is from
  • Pehraps Create a separate category in the relationship panel for “foreign” or out-of-city connections to quickly filter out of city connections

This would make the world feel truly connected and alive.

2.Expanded Experience Layer (Building on this system):

  • Tourist /Activity Variety:

    • sightseeing - dev could enhance city musueams to include unique arts by famous local artisits (lore)/ sculptures with lore OR artificats with lore around the city that tells the city history /story- i.e Bliss Bay could have a landmark similar to Eiffel tower, or Dowon could have a light house, or something more iconic, etc - such that zois on vacation could visit and interract with these to learn more about the city or even solve some randomized city mystetirs or scavenger hunts (could also earn rewards in cash or a free re-visit to the city vacation voucher, etc)
    • mini touristic activities - some new activities could be introduced in each city and could also be in form of a location marker that feels unique to that city
    • example:
      • Birdwatching or marine animal sighting in Cahaya - could be a location marker where you can watch birds or marine anaimals through a telescope (camaera could zoom into the sky, or ocean)
      • A city bus tour in Bliss Bay (camera follows the bus through landmarks) and Zois can:
        • Take photos, Listen to city facts, Chat with other passengers, Get off at selected landmarks…
      • A laser/firework show in Dowon with amazing laserwork show unqiue to Dowon
  • Dynamic Moments: local festivals & spontaneous events

    • example:
      • Traditional cooking class taking place at a specific location to learn new cultural reciepe
      • Hot Dog/Apple pie eating contest, local chess tourmaments, Dance off competition, Bon fire night at the beach, Tea tasting event, outdoor cinema, etc
      • Music experiences - Famous local artisi/choir group singing in a park (similar to the christmas charoal group)
      • Pop-up workshops & activities (i.e panitng class, Local craft workshops , programing/science event, sportsgathering, yoga group, etc)
  • City Specific Resources/rare objects, fish, crops & gems that can only be found by digging in a specific city or could be obtained/purchased at a lower cost if purchasing locally from that city (These could still be obtained elsewhere in other cities (e.g., resale stores), but at a much higher cost.

  • Cultural interactions - Zois can learn more about the city’s culture, seasons, feastivals, hot spot locations, when interacting with locals during vacation

  • Travel guide website/magazine + business feature - your local bsuinesses that are 3 stars and above could be featured in the travel guide website/magazine and could be considered as a hotspot location and as a result increase even your customer counts even further (lwith the idea that tourists are visting your bsusiness a lot)

  • Social Depth: bonding, romance, conflicts, meaningful interactions -

    • remniscie with vacation group,
    • remeber a friend you met while vacationing with an urge to check in/call them,
    • remember an akward service from an accommocation/acmmodation or location staff with an urge to leave a bad review,
    • remember a bad interraction from a zoi you met with an urge to leave a negative/concerning commments about them, etc
    • Share stories about your recent vacation with other zois
  • Lasting Impact: mood changes (be happy, sad, excited, ,or even neutral, etc) because of the vacation or because you’re visiting a local hotspot, or because you’re doing an activity you love while vacationing, or experiencing something new, etc), memories, relationship growth with self & other zois

  • Travel bucket list/wants

    • Visit all famous landmarks in a city
    • Dine in a local hotspot
    • Take photos at each location.
    • Collect travel stamps.
  • Vacation Journal

    Zois can record:

    • Places visited
    • Activities completed
    • People met
    • Favorite memories

    Later effects:

    • Reminisce about trips
    • Want to revisit locations

3.Stay-Over System (Short-Term Visits)

Perhaps this could be an opprotuinity fro Devs to also explore a stay-over system. A stay-over system could deepen relationships and storytelling and help maintain connections across cities.

  • Zois can plan and invite friends or family (from the same or different cities) to visit and stay over for a set number of days
  • This helps nurture and maintain relationships, especially for Zois living in different cities
  • Visiting Zois can also initiate stay-over requests, which players can accept or decline
  • Encourages storytelling for long-distance relationships, reunions, and family visits
  • Creates a more connected world where relationships continue to grow beyond city boundaries

3. Vacation Planner / Agenda System

A lightweight planner system could make vacations (and daily life) more intentional without feeling overly scripted.

Core Idea:
Not a goal-based event system, but a flexible coordination tool.

Key Features:

  • Plan activities (select a main activity or name your own activity) by date, time, and duration

  • Choose location (specific lot, current accommodation, or category like “restaurant”)

  • Select Zois involved (group, household, locals, etc.)

  • Optional activity preferences (or leave open for free behavior)

  • Social targeting (e.g., “be friendly with group” or “be flirty with specific Zoi”)

  • Could also be marked to reoccur at the same time (daily, weekly, or x number of times or with no end date)for instance casual plan/agenda like “Piano practice” Or “Gardening time” Or “Go grocery shopping” can be set to re-occur weekly on Wednesday at 6pm, “Attend to homework” could be set to reoccur daily at 5pm, etc

  • Have an option to set a reminder (x days, hour or x mins before) to allow your Zoi prepare for & navigate to the location (if needed)

  • Players can view all the planned/upcoming agenda (in a visually appealing/organized way) at a glance with an option to expand or collapse details

  • Schedule activities (like hangout events or accepted activity events) could also show up in your planner

  • Planner could also have sections that link to the schedule or calendar (and vice versa)for easy navigation for players

** Enhanced Group Coordination (Key Improvement):
Zois in the same planner activity should behave as a coordinated group rather than acting independently.

  • When a shared gameplay object is available, Zois should prioritize using the same object together instead of splitting up.
  • Examples include:
    • Using the same chess table instead of occupying separate ones
    • Swimming together in the same pool area
    • Boarding and riding the same boat
    • Playing together on playground equipment
  • If an object supports multiple users, Zois should join each other naturally (e.g., one starts, others follow).
  • If the object is full, Zois can wait, rotate, or choose a nearby similar interaction while staying socially connected.
  • Even when no specific activity is selected, Zois should still stay within proximity, interact, and feel like a group.

This prevents immersion-breaking behavior where Zois scatter and makes group experiences feel intentional and alive.

Integration:

  • Syncs with the schedule/calendar system
  • Accessible via phone app
  • Optional reminders (days/hours/minutes before)

Why it matters:

  • Keeps Zois together naturally without forcing rigid events
  • Enhances immersion during vacations and everyday life
  • Works alongside (not replacing) event systems like parties, hangouts, etc

. Example Use Cases (Detailed Visual Example)

Below is how a Zoi’s vacation planner/agenda could look in practice while vacationing in Cahaya:

    Zois: Zoi A & Partner

Key Experience Benefit:

  • Zois remain coordinated and present together
  • Activities feel organic rather than scripted
  • Players can mix structured plans with free-flow moments

4. Vacation Vouchers

Introduce vouchers as rewards or opportunities:

  • Earn via work, events, raffles, or gifts from other Zois
  • Discounts or free stays in cities/resorts from accomodations to encourage new/returning visits
  • Can be shared or gifted to other zois

Adds excitement and motivation to travel.

5.. Earning Vacation Days (With Choice System)

Make time off more meaningful by tying it to performance and player choice.

  • After an excellent work performance, a rare pop-up could appear
  • Players choose between immediate reward or future time off
  • Frequency could be (configurable/percentage-based) to keep it meaningful

Visual Example (In-Game Pop-Up):

:sparkles: Outstanding Performance!
Your Zoi has had an exceptional day at work. Their manager is impressed and is offering a reward:

Choose one:

  • :money_bag: Receive Bonus Pay
    Get a one-time monetary reward
  • :palm_tree: Earn +1 / or +2 Vacation Day (s)
Add an extra vacation day to your balance

(This opportunity appears occasionally based on performance and chance.)

Why it works:

  • Encourages meaningful decision-making
  • Supports different playstyles (career-focused vs. lifestyle-focused)
  • Makes vacation time feel earned and valuable

6. Staycations

Vacations shouldn’t also require travel:

  • Allow Zois to take time off and also stay in their current city
  • Combine with planner system for local relaxation and activities

You know, your message is a bit spoiled by the fact that it’s been edited by AI, so there are all these unnecessary flourishes in the style of “why this works”, “why this matters”, and “key benefits of experience”. Usually because of this, all forum visitors just stop reading such things, especially when the text is long.

But I want to point out that I agree with its main essence: it would be great to have the ability to plan some adventures for vacation time. For example, buy tickets in advance for an excursion on a certain day, so you can then plan around this event. But then these should really be meaningful activities that you want to look forward to: jungle adventures; a museum visit where there will be a bunch of NPCs and a tour guide who will take visitors from exhibit to exhibit and from painting to painting and tell them something about them — in the form of pop-up tooltips with interesting text about each one, for example; or a boat ride with a diving instructor, where during dives there’s a chance to find some underwater treasures, and so on.

So this should not be just “planning for the sake of planning”, but a good developed and well-thought-out mechanic for a whole range of vacation activities. Then yes, this will be very interesting, and there will be an additional incentive to actually “go on vacation”, rather than just independently doing the same diving :+1:

As someone who jots down ideas on my phone’s notes and build on them after reflecting over and over and visualizing it’s practicality, etc then indeed some thoughts like this one here, does gets really long (and even I myself may not always read lengthy text too, lol)

However, the main thing for me was to put it out there since it’s a brainstorming section - but ultimately in a way to ensure it could be, readable and flow smoothly.

So whether AI was used to edit it for this purpose (of refinement) or not should not matter. To me, so long as the idea or some of the ideas reaches the right person(s) and they also think it could be worth exploring and of value, then it’s all good. - But absolutely, thanks for sharing the added context about this!

And of course everyone is free to build on the points, disagree with all or some of it and suggests some improvements as you’ve done - That’s the beauty of the forum

And yes - I love Your idea on buying ticket in advance for a guided tour at the museum especially with the pop up notifications showing the contexts and history of the arts and sculptures there

And it doesn’t :slightly_smiling_face: I’m just saying that for many people this can trigger a “right, got it, this is AI, no need to read further” reaction. Not because of your specific message, but because there are people who abuse it so much, and people have already developed something like an allergy to such messages: they immediately think “Oh no, here we go! Again there will be the same idea repeated 5-6 times every 2-3 paragraphs”

So my message was an attempt to do the opposite — to draw people’s attention so they would also note all the really valuable ideas you’ve suggested and upvote them with reactions

I even know such people here on the forum. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Her messages are made with the help of AI and they are so long that it’s even impossible to scroll down. :joy: I want to downvote immediately without reading. It’s a shame that there’s no way to downvote posts here.

Hi Hi, I’m not sure if you fully understood the exchange and I also could be wrong and maybe not reading it correctly and perhaps you’re talking about another user/player/poster etc

But for absolute clarity - I think it’s important that I share that my ideas are nowhere generated by AI

These ideas are :100: my own - it’s not to say that people are also not thinking about some of these ideas/topics especially if you’ve played other life games like sims - then you may see where some of these ideas like staycation, stay over visits, etc are inspired from.

Others are from real life experiences (like for instance what makes a vacation truly a vacation and not just an everyday experience) and als, from what I have already found to be a bit lacking, challenging or frustrating (like having to forget your family and friends) with the current migration system.

AND even in the sims game (before the getaway system was Introduced) while on vacation you will find sims on vacation doing their own thing and not being coordinated together in a group or acting like a group together on vacation - and this downside is exactly what inspired my idea of vacation planner system - to help coordinate group activities in what I think would be a simple yet effective manner

But as I was jotting down I also felt “ooh this could also make sense for everyday use” because right now the group system or doing things together is a bit lacking , so if you have some sort of system to coordinate and encourage togetherness, I thought that would be helpful, hence the suggestion and some of the visual examples for more clarity

Regarding the culture, lore etc - I find that this is something that is lacking a bit in Inzoi , because in real life when vacationing, you are interested in learning new experiences, culture, the way of life, food, music, tourists spots etc these are things you experience or learn by interacting with actual locals or friends you know are from or have been to these cities (like where are the best restaurants in towns, where are the place to visit)

And the suggestions on sightseeing activities are to enrich the vacation experience also in consideration of what can be feasible and per real life experiences while vacationing - the hop on and off city tour bus, boat tours, bird sighting, lazer shows at famous parks (Disney world) etc ++ the suggestion from the previous poster regarding the guided museum tour for instance, all of these types of activities are what enriches your vacation experience in real life and makes it feel different from your everyday life

I am a very detailed person so when I am thinking about an idea I’m also thinking about “hmm how can this actually work, what’s the value, how does this impact other system, what’s the replay value here”

It’s possible that there are also some people like myself that are like this. OFcourse I’m not saying there might not be people that abuse AI and also from your reaction, I do see what the other poster was saying that people are finding this annoying (rightfully so)

However for me, Im able to confidently share in details, all of my thought processes that inspired every single one of my ideas because once again these are 100% my ideas that I scribbled down on my notes

But as you can imagine - pasting my raw and lengthy notes as it is on my actual Notes app may not be that effective or readable (because as I am jotting down one thing, something else is also popping up in my head) so it made sense to organize and refine.

I was even hoping for it to be summarized a lot shorter (but sometimes these said AI tools are even acting like a drunk relative that act like they know things but not really)

And to be honest, I’m not interested in likes or votes as long as it reaches the right person(s) and it may be of value to improving the experience of the game - this is what I care about the most - shared ideas and suggestions that can improve the overall gameplay experience with InZoi and I believe this is what this section is about.

I’m only responding to you, because I also don’t want want other readers to think that these ideas are generated with the help of AI which is simply not true And I dont want the ideas to get lost in this and loose its value (which is what the previous poster was explaining and I do see that now)

Of course, I understand that! No complaints about you at all! I was only talking about the presentation, not the ideas themselves. It’s your ideas that I support! :folded_hands:

And yes, @LeeLoo also doesn’t mean you, she’s talking about a completely different person, don’t worry! :+1:

Yes, @Ivypie, I wasn’t talking about you. Sorry if I expressed myself incorrectly.
