Infinite loading on startup (no crash, no error, no Saved folder)

Game Version:

Latest Steam Early Access version (first installation on 13 July 2026)

Platform:

Steam (Windows)

Mods:

Never used

Hardware Specifications & Operating System:

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (Build 26200)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11600 @ 2.80 GHz
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB (Driver 610.62 / updated to the latest available driver during troubleshooting)
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H510M-D
  • Storage: SSD (game installed on SSD)

Issue Date:

13 July 2026

Error Message:

No error message is displayed.

Details:

The game never reaches the main menu.

It stays indefinitely on the startup screen with the rotating inZOI logo.

The process remains active and uses approximately 40–50% CPU, several GB of RAM and the GPU is also being used, but the loading never finishes.

Troubleshooting already performed:

  • Verified game files through Steam.
  • Restarted the PC.
  • Updated NVIDIA graphics driver.
  • DirectX 12 is available.
  • Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables are installed.
  • No overlays enabled.
  • No mods have ever been installed.
  • Compatibility mode disabled.
  • Launch option -log tested.

Additional observations:

  • The console opened with -log only prints the initial Steam startup lines and then stops.
  • The only log generated is the CurseForge plugin log.
  • No Unreal Engine log is created.
  • No Saved folder is ever created by the game.
  • Windows Event Viewer does not report any crash.
  • The game never crashes or closes by itself; it simply remains on the loading screen indefinitely.

This is a clean installation on a system where the game has never successfully reached the main menu.

Hey there, welcome to the inZOI forum and thank you for your very detailed report. These are always very helpful :folded_hands:

The first thing that comes to my mind is that new devices using the GeForce RTX 5-Gen graphics cards, sometimes have issues when launching a game. Not due to driver errors, but because the device is programmed to switch graphics cards after launch, deciding which one is best for the game. This sometimes causes devices to attempt to “switch monitors”, even if you have no second screen active (might never even had one in the first place)

Are you currently using multiple monitors? If not, could you check if, while launching the game, your device makes the “typical windows notification noise”? That’s usually the first indicator that your device is weirdly trying to switch settings, even if no second monitor is attached.

Hi !
Thank you for your suggestion.

Yes, I am using two monitors (2560×1440 and 1920×1080).

I tested launching the game while listening for the Windows notification sound, but I did not hear any sound at all. The monitors also do not flicker or reconnect.

The game still stays indefinitely on the rotating startup logo.

For testing reasons, maybe switch to a different, older inZOI version on Steam and try again  I think this issue might only happen with the recent version, but I’m not sure.
