I’ve repeatedly noticed that posts aren’t being displayed completely for me. What can be done about this? Just now I switched from German to English and I was able to read them completely. But I’m not sure if this works for all incomplete posts?
I’ve been using the forum in the English version since joining the forum, so I wasn’t aware of this issue. Thanks for bringing it up!
Could you please share some screenshots showing missing parts between the versions? I think that’d help the devs to understand the issue better
If you kindly do share some screenshots, I think we should move this to the Bug Reports section ![]()
I would have an example with @Carnel. He told me whenever he tries to quote, this occurs sometimes. And on his end, my quote also didn’t fully work and showed gibberish. In his original language (Russian) the post is normal. So to read it, I had to switch to Russian and then use a separate translator. His post showed in full as soon as I switched to his native language. I myself use the forum in English as well.
Oh yes, I see. I just checked the reply you’re referring to here: Mermaids & Realism: The Sandbox That Doesn’t Segregate - #12 by Carnel
For me, most translations are messed up too. Only Spanish and Russian are showing the complete post including the quote. That’s truly weird. Thanks for reporting it, guys!
@Sephrenia - I moved the thread to the Bug Reports category and added the forum hashtag, so the devs can detect the thread faster / when checking for forum issues. Thank you for understanding ![]()
How are you using the forum on the white theme? It’s straining my eyes. ![]()
Oh no, I’m really sorry, please definitely carry out these measures:
Immediate First-Aid Steps
- Find darkness: Go to a darkened room immediately. Close your eyes for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Palming (cup your eyes): Rub your palms together to warm them. Place them gently over your closed eyes without applying pressure.
- Cool compresses: Place a damp, cool cloth over your closed eyelids. You can also use cooled chamomile tea bags.
- Use eye drops: Apply over-the-counter lubricating eye drops (“artificial tears”). These relieve burning and dryness.
- Take a screen break: Turn off your smartphone, computer, and television. Blue light strains the retina further.
Ah it was misunderstood because of the translation.
I’m using it on a black theme.
Oh, actually I’ve been running into this constantly lately. I have to switch the forum to English and read there, otherwise the message might consist literally of a couple of words or even just a curly brace.
I think it’s somehow related to quotes and citations, but not always.
I often experience this with Russian posts. I thought it might also be due to the Cyrillic script?
@Mazikeen we are famous. Our dialogue has been used in the screenshot.
I also encountered another instance, where I switched to german and half the text was just missing. It’s quite the serious bug. No wonder there are so many misunderstandings here
I personally also have that with some English posts when I switch to German. So I’m not sure if that is it.
I have the same problem. The text disappears when i switch to other languages. @Minthyuyu @Carnel @Sephrenia @HeinziDerHeld
Now the rest of the world probably thinks: Germans can build cars, schedule appointments three months in advance, and invent a form for absolutely everything—but give up reading after the first sentence. Meanwhile, the forum simply hid the rest from us. ![]()
Especially since us Germans usually love long texts, extra complicated flourishes and everything explained in a lengthy way. And translation won’t let us. This is blasphemy
I have many German friends @HeinziDerHeld and @Minthyuyu you are wonderful. ![]()
Back at you
. Now it makes me wonder even more if some people took you as too harsh because half your posts were lost in translation. That would be the pinnacle of slander
However some respond quite harshly and that’s understandable.
Some sentences can cause arguments and fights because of translation. ![]()
There were cases of problems with Spanish. Some texts written in English would suddenly be partially translated into French, turn into question marks, and behave differently on each language. So it’s not about Cyrillic.
In one of the brainstorming sessions, Kjun’s post was truncated in all languages except Korean and English. The last paragraph was simply missing. So the problem is quite global, unfortunately.
