Small Details, Big Immersion: Ideas to Make inZOI Feel More Alive

I have been following the evolution of inZOI with great interest, as the developers seem to be aiming for a deeper life simulation where both the characters and their environment feel more believable.

This is exactly why I would like to share a suggestion.

I am not talking about adding dozens of new features or making the game unnecessarily complex. I simply believe that small details can have a huge impact on the feeling of immersion.

Right now, some interactions give the impression that objects only exist for the duration of an animation before disappearing. From a technical point of view, this works, but it constantly reminds the player that they are watching an animation rather than experiencing a living world.

On the other hand, seeing a character open a cabinet to take a utensil, use an object that then remains on a countertop or table, and later seeing another character put it away or clean it would make it feel like the inhabitants are truly sharing the same environment.

I am not asking for an extremely complex simulation where every object has to be individually managed. What I am mainly asking for is consistency. These small continuities between actions are what make a world feel like it follows its own rules.

The Sims 2 already created some of this feeling by connecting animations more closely to furniture and the environment. Today, with a modern engine and the ambitions behind inZOI, I believe it is possible to go even further.

I also understand that not every player is looking for the same level of simulation. This is why features like this could be offered as an optional setting or a simulation depth level. Players who prefer a lighter experience could keep the current system, while those looking for more consistency could enable a deeper simulation. This way, everyone could enjoy the game according to their own preferences, without forcing a single way of playing on everyone.

In my opinion, this is not just a small visual detail. It is the kind of improvement that can make a game truly feel alive. Graphics may attract players at first, but it is the consistency of interactions that makes them want to come back for hundreds of hours.

This is the kind of design philosophy that, in my opinion, could truly set inZOI apart from other life simulation games.

I would be curious to hear your thoughts. Do you also feel that these small details of consistency are what make a world feel more alive? And would you be interested in an option allowing players to enable a deeper level of simulation for those who want it?

I completely agree! The smallest genuine touches make me feel like Zoi is a living person, not cold code.
