Beds, blankets, leg room, and... thickness?

Not really suggesting or asking for anything, but there doesn’t seem to be anywhere to just give feedback, so here it is.

Have you ever looked at a Zoi in bed? Not the Zoi, but the bed. Not really the bed, but the blankets…

Here we see a Zoi sleeping peacefully.

Notice anything odd? Let me help.

Same Zoi same bed, with the camera clipped into the blankets. How thick are these blankets???

At some points the blankets are thicker than the Zoi.

Last observation, then I’m done… Leg room. The blankets aren’t even close to touching the Zoi. They form a huge bubble over them.

It’s not really a problem. I was just surprised and puzzled, and curious why this was done this way.

I think the idea was that no matter what clothes you chose as sleepwear, they wouldn’t stick out from under the blanket. What if someone decided to wear a huge puffy jacket and wide pants as nightwear? You never know? Better to have a thick blanket than to see clothes poking through it. That’s one possibility.

And the second possibility: it was designed with sex in mind. So that both people could fit under the same blanket without having to adjust it separately underneath them.

Heya:four_leaf_clover:

What @Carnel said and probably also body sizes I can imagine. It’s easier to have the blanket “thicker” so that it won’t look glitchy when we play a “bigger” Zoi. In the latest Brainstorm, the blanket was already looking slightly glitchy with two people cuddling, so there will probably be more fine polishing. But I must say, that was a super detailed observation. I never looked that closely at the blankets to be honest xD

The blankets don’t bother me that much. But the fact that they don’t move at all when they’re not dreaming does. When I first started playing, I honestly thought my Zoi had died. They just look dead to me, so I try not to look at them too much when they’re sleeping. It creeps me out. :ghost:

I guess I’m not imaginative enough to picture a Zoi in such crazy sleepwear they’d need that much space. Also my Zois are dating but don’t have any live-in partners so far, so never actually shared a bed. Looking for “the one” and all that. Maybe it will become clear in the future. Thanks for the responses! Edit: I suppose it only looks weird if you look at it weirdly lol

That’s strange… It seems to me that my zoi tosses and turns in their sleep. You can see it especially well when you watch it in fast-forward mode - they turn their head from time to time. Am I mistaken about something, or did it just seem that way to me?

I can’t play right now because I’m traveling, but I can suggest running an experiment.

Create the thickest zoi possible within CAZ limits. Dress them in a winter outfit as sleepwear - for example, a “puffy” down jacket that reaches almost to their ankles. And watch how they fit under that blanket

Or just make your current character happy by spicing up their intimate life. That would also be curious to peek under the blanket and see what happens there  I hope the forum will allow posting such screenshots - I doubt they’ve implemented any unnecessary details. And then we’ll definitely know how the blanket behaves in such cases :slightly_smiling_face:

I did what you suggested. Not sure how many pictures I can post at once, but here they are.

I made a couple with the maximum thickness anywhere I could find to increase it, and put them in the thickest clothes I could find.

I’ll start with this one… This matches the one above that shows the view from the foot of the bed, and how far the blankets are elevated.

This one shows the blankets at the torso level.

And from the other side. (I’ll also point out she has the maximum.. uh.. you know.. thickness. Up top.

Not even close to clipping through the blankets.

This one shows his leg room. Biggest puffiest pants I could find, and they don’t touch the lower boundary.

And here you can see he is most definitely the maximum thickness.

Anyway, as I said before, it’s just a cosmetic thing and doesn’t have any negative effect on gameplay.

Now we should also try to look at the variant of child conception. It’s possible they wouldn’t be lying next to each other there, but rather on top.

And the fact that clothing isn’t visible through the blanket — that could actually be evidence that the blanket’s height was adjusted to the maximum thickness of everything — bodies and clothing combined.

I hope they add a customization option that lets us choose the thickness of the blankets. Thick, fluffy blankets look luxurious and cozy, but sometimes I’d love the option to use a thinner blanket depending on the bed, style, or location. I’d personally prefer thinner blankets in Cahaya since that would fit the warmer, tropical setting much better.

@Carnel When they do other stuff in the bed they actually do nothing - they remain in the exact same position above the blankets as they are seen before the heart is covering them. The heart seems to not be so thick anymore so you actually can see through it how they are just in the same position as before

So I must be confusing it with some other game. I even suspect which one  In that game, characters could move around chaotically under a blanket.

That’s the main downside of not having access to the game yet — I can’t check anything myself, only discuss it from memory. But that’s okay, in mid-September I’ll finally be able to play and see everything for myself

@Carnel yes , there was this one game with 4 iterations where it used to be like that. I think most of us played it in the past

But for Inzoi they remain cuddling above the blanket to get pregnant
