  • Details (Providing reproduction steps helps us):

When I try to play, the game crashes.
After updating the game, I decided to return to the game and play on a new map.
At first, I had mods, created a new game, entered the world, selected a location, and after about 30 seconds, the game crashed without any errors.
I removed the mods, created a new game, entered the world, and after about 30 seconds, the game crashed again.
I reinstalled the game, created a new game, entered the world, and after about 30 seconds, the game crashed again.
I don’t know what the problem might be.
I tried different graphics settings, but it didn’t work. I also checked the game files, but it didn’t help.

I solved the problem.
I went to the mod folder and saw the mods there, I deleted them and everything worked.

BlueClient\Content\Paks~mods

I had installed these mods after the game was released, and they were probably causing conflicts.

Anyone else have trouble creating a “net new” game?

Does it work until right before the map “drops” then poof, gone?

I’ve experienced this with or without mods since launch, and also in any city. Since this game is pre-release, I do clean installs often and wipe out all data and start over. I won’t always

But conversely - it RARELY crashes like this once the game has been created…like less than 3% easily. Even with my heavy rotational playstyle, it works really well - which is why I ignore it bc it is not that big of deal. :psycat_thumbsup:

I have found that when I create a “net new” game, in any world, as long as I use a default ZOIpreset, the game will load perfectly. As I have used this method, I’ve had decent luck with minimal edits but can’t push it too far. The once the game is established, I create the family I wanted to create intially.

Open to other methods if you got it or if there is a related post I am missing :psycat_upvote:

I’ll merge this post with the earlier thread on the same topic
