Update on this…
I got my Zoi up to level 10 gathering and got her a ‘gem’ pick axe and she is finally starting to find gems.
Now my problem seems to be I no longer get ‘ordinary stones’ needed for crafting.

Not even when using one of the inferior pick axes?

Nah not worth it you can buy the stones for 1 M each.

Hello, you’re not the only one to be in this situation, it’s difficult to collect gems, that’s sure…
I’ve found that if we use a cheat code, maybe it can facilitate that.
Like : addItemToBag Gem_Ruby 5 but the IDs for gems are not sure for the moment.

you can craft the pickaxe at the crafting table.
Find a copper mineral using a stone pickaxe while mining at regular mining or gold mining spots.
Use your first copper to create a copper pickaxe then use that to mine for iron at a silver mining spot.
Use your first iron to create a steal pickaxe and use that to mine for silver at a silver mining spot.
Use your first silver to create a silver pickaxe and use that to mine for gold at a gold mining spot.
Use your first gold to create a gold pickaxe and use that to mine for diamond at a silver mining spot.
Use that to create a gem pickaxe. Make sure from here on out your zoi is always concentrated when you mine and only mine gold and mixed mining spots for gems. Silver mining spot when mined with a gem pickaxe and a concentrated mood always give diamond which is good for creating more diamond pickaxe since they break.
This is a regular mining spot:
This is a silver mining spot (there are a ton of regular and silver mining spots in all 3 cities):
This is a gold mining spot (a bit rarer but a lot more than mixed):
This is a mixed mining spot (very rare to find any):
In Dowon, you find mine spots in central park and Harang River Park
In Bliss Bay, you find mine spots around the school exterior and inside the parking lot area, also at the Bliss Park (the huge white build at the center of the map without a label)
In Cahaya, you find mine points all over the farming area and at the park. Also at the deserted island and around the temple at the resort.
