In my case, I disabled shadows and lighting effects, and the flickering stopped. By the way, it started flickering after the second launch of the game.

Hello @Scarlett
The team is aware of this and it has been added to the November Known Issues (Updated 11/26) . Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

When the Graphics - Preset option is set to “High” or “Ultra,” lights in Cahaya may flicker abnormally. (11/19)

For now, I will merge this topic with the related report.

Hello @Scarlett,
Apologies for the confusion earlier. Upon taking a closer look, it seems like your reported issue is a different one compared to the known issue we have shared earlier.

We appreciate your time and effort for raising this to our attention.
Also, we are currently investigating this issue and will share any updates in this thread.

Thanks!

I posted this as a follow-up to the light bleeding bug I encountered months ago, but I think this deserves its own thread. When I turn on realistic shadows in the graphics settings and have multiple light sources enabled, the shadows and lights start flickering. Video of the bug below:

Hi @Porkcubes,
First of all, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

We tried reproducing the issue but unfortunately, we weren’t able to reproduce it. :psycat_sad:
Could you please share the save files when it happened? Instruction can be found here:

Thanks in advance!

Hi @AR_Luna ! I’ve edited the main post and attached the saved file there.
Also, I forgot to mention that the “all cast shadow” is turned on aswell.

And below is my graphic settings

I know of a dozen or so reports in various sites like facebook groups, discord and reddit talking the same problem. Realistic shadows setting causes lights to flicker, esp. outdoor lighting at night and in certain instances, mostly up close to the light like the level of display is also affected. I also have the same problem. I use Nvidia drivers the most recent with a RTX 3050 card. I think this may also clear up when UE is updated to a more recent edition. I think they are planning this in the Dec. update but I dunno. This may well be an Unreal Engine problem with the current version IZ uses. A quick fix is to turn OFF Realistic Shadows in the settings.

Hi @Porkcubes,

I’ve merged your topic into an existing discussion that covers the same issue.

We are currently reviewing on this matter, and any updates will be shared in this thread.

Thank you!

hello @Denice ! Thank you for merging the two into one. Anyway, I might have found a workaround to remove the flickering lights by turning off frame generation, which was previously set to 2×. Now, even with realistic shadows and all cast shadows turned on, there’s no more light flickering. Not sure if this method will work for everyone that has the same issue but its a start!

hello, the issue is even on the main menu now too, but only when i turned on realistic shadows, when i turn it off the flickering is gone from the menu and the game

Have you tried turning off frame gen while keeping the realistic shadows on like I did from the video I posted?

Exact same thing happens to me. I was gonna make a report, but you made one. Thank you for making my life easier, lol :joy: . But no, seriously, it happens to me, and it’s ANNOYING, which sucks, as it adds realism. I hope this gets fixed ASAP
