The game needs NPCs with unique clothing, animations, personalities, a mysterious lore, full of drama and differential behaviors that make you feel attached or, on the contrary, hated, but that generate some kind of emotion in the player. Nowadays, none of them provoke that because NPCs are just ordinary people.
Here are my ideas for unique NPCs that could bring the game to life:
- A drunkard: always found in the nightclub, always dancing on tables (he has a unique dance style), making a scene, drinking, vomiting, or sleeping on the couches. His way of walking is like he’s dizzy, he wears party clothes all messy.
- A clown: found at the carnival, gives out balloons, does juggling tricks that go wrong. Interactions with him and your zoi are always humorous.
- A lonely elderly woman who feeds pigeons: found in the park, always alone feeding pigeons, sometimes seen crying and you don’t know why. Could have a lore about her husband dying in a war, her house is full of photos of them when they were young.
- A rebellious teenager with a dysfunctional family: found in the school zone or on the streets at night breaking the law or doing negative karma interactions. She likes to kick, break things, and graffiti walls. she likes to wear grunge clothes. Interactions with her and your zoi are always negative. Her lore could be that she lives in a run-down ranch, her father abandoned her, and her mother is an addict who doesn’t love her.
- A vigilant cop: won’t leave you alone, likes to chase you and control what you’re doing. His interactions with your zoi are always negative. He has a mustache, his uniform is different from the others.
- A castaway (DLC): found on the deserted island, he’s crazy, talks to himself, could make a reference to Wilson. His lore could be that his boat sank.
- A spiritist tarot reader: an elderly woman with gypsy clothing who runs a small tarot shop, reads your cards, interprets your dreams, sees your future in a crystal ball, holds spiritist sessions, and is the only one who can communicate with the game’s ghosts. She could also have some kind of connection to the karma system. Her idle animations could include poking voodoo dolls and other witchy things.
- A serial killer: there could be “wanted” posters all over the city, even on TV. You could investigate his old house and find a hidden room where it seems like he kept his victims captive, and a garden with signs of buried bodies. It would be very rare to find him in the world.
- A malevolent ghost: from what I understand, ghosts in the game are NPCs who are dead but harmless. It would be great to have one that you fear, like a demon. It could possess your house, you could hear it whispering words with a terrifying voice, it wouldn’t let you sleep at night, it could move your objects, make the lights flicker, generate interference on the TV, and more. The longer you leave it in your house without calling an exorcist, the more paranormal activities it will do until it possesses you and kills you
