When I‘ve had zois that were into fitness, they’d often want a protein drink, which they could only get from a vending machine. But the drink didn’t do anything beyond fulfilling their want. It didn’t stop them from feeling hungry, it didn’t give them more energy either. why are protein drinks only in vending machines anyway?
Just a feature that hasn’t been fleshed out yet in early access I guess.
I’ve always assumed that eventually our Zoi will be able to create Protein Drinks using the Juicer appliance which currently doesn’t do anything. Maybe with veggies we grow?

That would be nice! Also there are plants that can be grown that we can’t use in foods (like lettuce, eggplant and carrot). Hopefully dishes that consume these vegetables will be added
Wait, I didn’t even know that InZoi had protein drinks. I’ve only seen Energy, Grain (Oat Milk), and Carbonated drinks!
Think there are a few too many things that haven’t been fully developed yet. Maybe they’re holding a load of things back, but the actions that achieve nothing just waste time and breed frustration.
With the protein shakes, having to find a vending machine that sells them when a zoi gets the urge is pointless. Either give them a purpose or remove them.
And coffee! Lots and lots of coffee. I’m amused at all the detailed steps our Zoi goes through to produce one of the many, many varieties of coffee in the game. Somebody on the dev team must really like their caffeine! 
Do you know what vending machines specifically sell Protein Drinks??? I’ve never seen it, and my Zoi would love that lol
The light blue, glass-door beverage vending machines are the only ones with Protein drinks, to the best of my knowledge.

They’re not specific to a particular vending machine, they’re one of the drinks that you can choose. They are black vending machines, they don’t sell any food items, only drinks.

I think the black ones are for other beverages, but I could quite likely have missed the protein drinks. Haven’t had one for ages.
Where I found a lot of them was in Dowon. Where the basketball courts are, and I also remember almost in the center of the city where there was a gym, but it’s been a while since I opened the city and I don’t even remember the names anymore…
In Bliss Bay, there was one by Muscle Beach. Others were more dotted about in the streets.
It’s still ealy access and the urges and ambition goals still need a lot of adjustments ( some of them can’t even be fulfilled at all, like donating at the ATM).
But if your Zoi has the safety value, you can place any of these black vending machines on your home lot to drink protein shakes

I genuinely love this game. It’s so much better going through this process and being able to appreciate the improvements. All of this weirdness adds something that other games just don’t have.
Ohhhh, so is the protein drink Value-Locked? That might explain why I’ve never seen it before. I looked and still cannot find it on the vending machines.
I’m not quite sure it’s entirely interlocked with the safety value, OP also mentioned Zois who are into fitness crave it. But from the Zois I tested the available vending machines from build mode, only the one with the safety value had the option.
