Ice Box is not funcional

Despite its description, the Ice Box from the last update is not functional.

‘A top-opening frige you can pop open anytime. Great for keeping drinks and snacks cold outdoors.’

And even though the Cahaya Summer Cooler Box promises nothing, we can keep food and drinks inside and pop it open anytime :beverage_box:
So the easy solution could be to add this function to all of the coolers (and the ‘drink a beverage’ option to all the fridges).

I fully agree! All items that have a description of functions must be really functional.

I never realised we could interact with any of the coolers, I just thought they were all cosmetic. I don’t have the Cahaya cooler, but can the standard one be used in the same way?

No, sadly only the Cahaya Cooler. But it would be so easy to make the other coolers also functional and add the ‘drink a beverage’ option to the fridges, so I hope it gets implemented soon

Yes, that would be good. There are a lot of purely cosmetic items in game which I can only hope will someday have a function.

I wouldn’t classify this as a bug because I doubt it’s unintentional, and the functionality may be planned for later. However, to increase the chance of that happening, in case it’s not in the Devs’ plans, you should suggest these ideas in the Wishlist section instead.

A lot of objects with descriptions like this in the game are non-functional.

I would think that too if they hadn’t added the function in the discription. And there is a similar object that has this function already.

As I said, there are many objects in the game with descriptions like that, implying functionality when they are not yet functional (e.g., the toddler chair and many kitchen appliances). Sometimes, they just add descriptions that fit the object, which is why it’s so confusing to know which actually work and which don’t.

The Ice Box was released for the game before the Cahaya cooler, and it didn’t have functionality then either. Neither does the old cooler, as you know. If you want functionality added to those items, like the Cahaya Cooler, I’d request it in the Wishlist, but I highly doubt this is an in-game error/bug. I could be wrong though.

This gave me a great idea.

I created a Wishlist suggestion for functional objects to have a “Functional” tag placed in their catalog to disambiguate functional from non-functional or decorative objects.

It would definitely help with playtesting, among other reasons I stated in the post.
