I noticed there is a ‘Gi-battle’ option under → Conflicts
What is that?
AI isn’t very helpful, I guess(?) or it it a jiu-jitsu fight?
I’m afraid to try myself not not mess with their karma/relationships and I hate violence ö.ö
A ‘gi’ is a martial-arts tunic I believe, so I assumed it was something related to fighting. But why not just save, try it out, and reload?
I tried it fairly recently while playing a negative karma Zoi and quite frankly it didn’t seem to be much of anything. Some arguing maybe, but nothing that sticks in my memory.
If I knew what the term referred to maybe it would become obvious but I’m not one of the cool kids. ![]()
Edit: That’s one heck of a family you’re playing! ![]()
Because I don’t know what happens. Violence triggers me.
Thank you!
(They are the Resort Crew for my story I picked from Cahaya’s premade households ^^’ Was dressing them for work when I noticed the ‘Gi-battle’ option for the first time. I have no idea why new/unplayed households always have negative actions in their queue. Two others of them had negative conversations there already, even though I just switched to this household (and set negative karma conversations to the lowest possible))
Well, purely in the interests of science I loaded up one of my nasty Zoi’s saves and checked. They just seemed to be arguing about whose GI is best, whatever that is.
Tried it again with a positive karma Zoi and didn’t notice any difference. The other Zoi had a bubble over their head with a boxing glove so it seems to be related to fighting in some way, but it’s beyond me.
My curiosity got the better of me and I went searching for an explanation.
As Liessahi mentioned, “Gi” refers to the fabric tunic worn during certain styles of martial arts fighting. So you can have two schools of the same basic style, one that includes gripping the opponent’s clothing while No-Gi does not. An quick explanation I found:
What is the main difference between Gi and No-Gi BJJ?
The primary difference is the attire and gripping methods. Gi BJJ allows practitioners to use the opponent’s Gi for grips, chokes, and control, leading to a more methodical pace. No-Gi BJJ eliminates fabric grips, resulting in a faster, more dynamic style that incorporates wrestling and body control.

All of which, of course, has no real relevance in the game since the Zois don’t actually spar with each other. ![]()
Thanks for looking it up!
From how I understand it, it’s a sparring ‘fight’ between opponents that consent to have a fair fight that follows rules, imo it doesn’t really fit in the ‘Conflict’ department (?)
It describes the style used, but that style could used in a sparring match, i.e. a training session or competition, or it could be used in an actual fight-fight if one was silly enough to get involved in a brawl for some reason.
I guess it’s in the Conflict category just because it’s seen as kind of a negative or aggressive action.
Hi @LennyOgg, We’ve checked the issue you reported, and it turned out to be a mistranslation. It will be corrected to “Start Power Play” in a future update, so please keep that in mind when playing. ![]()
