Carryover of children's skills?

Is there any carryover of children’s skills (e.g. Creativity) when they turn into adolescents? If not, what is the point of them? When one of my Zois aged up from a child into an adolescent, all of the new adult skills seemed to be reset to 0.

That’s disappointing.
I really hope played children will have skill advantages over NPC/unplayed children.

I think I remember from the Sims 4 we got to chose traits for them (when they aged up and had been doing well) or what was it?

So far the only advantage I’ve seen is that children with a high Creativity skill can paint pictures and sell them for a frankly ridiculous amount of money (around 1,000 Mew in Build mode, and even more if you use Pocket Market). They can also use the kids’ equivalent of Fitness to unlock extra actions with yoga mats etc., but again, I’m not sure if these carry over once they age up.

OK, update on this: I had another Zoi child age up with his Creativity skill at level 5 which is the highest possible, and all the related adult skills (art, instruments, performance etc.) automatically started at level 5. However, all other skills such as Fitness went back to 0 regardless of the previous level. So I guess some skills do carry over from childhood, but only if they’re at the highest level? Not sure if this is a bug or not.

I had a child Zoi just recently who maxed out 4 of the currently 6 child skills. All 4 gave the relevant skills at level 5 when aging into an adolescent. Social brought Rhetoric and Charm on level 5. Creativity as you mentioned @Liessahl + media production also at level 5. Motor skill turned into fitness at level 5. Responsibility gave Housework at 5.

So even not knowing for sure I assume that the new child skill for swimming will turn into swimming and / or snorkeling skill at level 5 if maxed out. And the curiosity child skill then will likely turn into gathering, fishing and maybe also crafting. Can someone confirm?

Also it seems that the toddler traits also carry over. I had only 2 of them maxed out, but for those 2 the chid Zoi started already at level 3.

I just had another toddler an now I can confirm that all 4 toddler skills carry over but a little different as I had thought.

My toddler maxed out all 4 toddler skills and both the emotional and the social skill count for the child social skill. So if you max out both of these toddler skills you start with child social skill already at level 4.

The toddler movement skill gives you level 3 for child motor skill and toddler cognitive skill also level 3 for child creativity skill - as expected.

So for the remaining 3 child skills there seems to be no bonus from the toddler stage.
