Text for install mod button has changed to "Suscribe"

  • Game Version:

  • Platform: (Steam windows / Steam Mac / Mac)

  • Mods: Doesn’t not apply.

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (Does not apply):

  • Details:
After the latest update, the text of the button that installs mods has changed from “install” to “suscribe” which can be confusing for users. Using the word “suscribe” makes it look like it’s a button to follow the modder or something similar.

  • When the mod is installing, the button changes to “installing” but when it is succesfully installed, it says “suscribed” instead of “installed”.

  • Screenshots provided below!

That’s not really an error, I think since the last update this has been the case for everyone (at least it happens to me too). I believe (and this is just my assumption) that now you don’t just install a mod, but apparently you “subscribe” to it to receive updates when they are released. Well, it’s basically what already existed but called something different…

I didn’t know this, thank you. Does this mean that the mods update automatically? I still think “suscribe” is a confusing choice of words for a lot of us!

I don’t think they update automatically; I suppose it will be like it was before (I’m just guessing, of course), and you’ll still have to go into the mods menu and click update as you did before. I think, as you rightly say, it’s just another more confusing way of calling it now.

Yeah, this isn’t a bug. This is a new system. Subscribing to a mod means installing and tracking its updates, basically. When you "unsubscribe,” you’re uninstalling it and no longer tracking its updates.

I kinda dislike the change, not gonna lie :sob: It’s pretty confusing to see “suscribe” when downloading a mod- But thank you for the information!

Yeah, it’s confusing at first, but once you find out what subscribing means on Curseforge, it’s pretty clear.
