Hey, everyone
So, I don’t know if you’ve all seen the Inzoi Reddit AMA Part 1, but one segment addressed the Car Parking/Auto-Disappearing situation.
Here was the Question and Answer:
Q: Can we get parked cars back? Cars don’t park outside now, & that feature was so nice for realism & we were able to interact more with car that way, like open trunk, get in car door we pick, wash car, take car pictures etc. (And it would also be nice if car didn’t disappear right away when we exit it, when we take it into the world- at least could it linger for a minute in case we want to interact with it again?) (And could we get more car colors or car color wheel?) (submitted by u/lightosim)
A: The change happened because cars are now tied individually to each player, which unfortunately removed the parked car feature. I completely understand the need for this, and while it’s not something we can solve quickly, we’ll continue reviewing it and discuss possible solutions with the parking development team.
As for keeping the car in the world a little longer after exiting, adding a simple delay might be possible. But there are concerns about potential issues that could arise if interactions with the car are still happening during that time. It’s something that requires further discussion, even if implemented in a limited form.
Regarding car colors and a color wheel, we’ll also be discussing internally how this could be added. For now, though, please understand that our main priority is improving inZOI’s overall core simulation, so these features may take a bit longer.
If anyone is confused by the first part, when they say, “tied individually to each player,” I believe they are referring to the fact that every (age-appropriate) Zoi in the family can now have a car, rather than having one car per family that only one Zoi can drive. So it seems that because we can have multiple cars in one household, the devs removed the “parked car at residence” feature since that would cause multiple cars to be parked out front.
As for the second part, it seems like the concern about keeping cars in the world is about interactions with the cars if they are constantly out. I cannot tell if they’re referring to Zoi interactions with the cars or to traffic/collision/surrounding car interactions, but it doesn’t seem like they are considering making cars able to be parked permanently in the world like they can be in, for example, GTA.
This is honestly surprising, considering there is a functional garage door feature. However, maybe I am misunderstanding their answer because it may be related to a temporary delay when randomly getting out of the car in general, and not referring to parking features.
