I think the October update was rushed and its okay

Like most people I waited all October hoping the update would drop about mid-way through the month, but it didn’t. I’m glad they released something right on Halloween, but this is probably the buggiest update so far. The devs must have been in an impossible spot - update isn’t ready but if you miss Halloween, you’d disappoint a lot of people. I think thats why this update is so buggy, it simply wasn’t ready and they waited as long as possible to push it out. I’m alright with that since they patch things pretty quick. I do hope in the future if they decide to do holiday updates they get their ducks in a row first.

In Kjun’s last friday’s post on discord, he said they try a different approach for the December update, so I really hope we get the Winterfest deco in time and not too late like the Halloween objects.

The October update was already scheduled on the old roadmap so I think they just put too many irons in the fire to get ready in time. I’d rather they take their time and release the update earlier and focus on less, than trying to stuff as much (bugged at that) content in as possible.

We’re also planning to adjust our update approach. While we’ll still deliver a major update at the end of December, we’ll also release smaller patches and immediate fixes in between.

This decision aims to reduce potential chain issues that can occur when too many systems are updated at once. At inZOI, we believe that games are an art of interaction.

Developers create the world, but it’s you—the players—who live in it. That’s why we’re adjusting our process to balance your feedback with stable updates.

Of course, splitting updates this way might make the December patch feel a little smaller in volume. We ask for your understanding in advance. ::folded_hands:: The inZOI team will continue to grow the game step by step, steadily improving it until its full release. Even when faced with opposition, we’ll keep trying bold new ideas in search of fresh fun.::grin::

Seems reasonable. They must have known they wouldn’t meet the deadline. I wish they’d be a bit more up front about it, but its not a big deal, they still got halloween content out on time even if its going to take 2 weeks of patches to work right. For coming things it definitely seems better not to tie yourself to a holiday, release that separate if possible.
