Floor tiles in build mode no longer overlap using ALT

  • Game Version: 0.4.2

  • Platform: (Steam Windows)

  • Mods: (Engine.ini tweaks, remove outline, reduce stuttering, No pak files installed, nothing off curseforge)

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (Windows 11, i5 12th gen, RTX 3050 8gig, 48 gig RAM):

It appears that now the ALT key no longer allows you to overlap floor tiles. You get a red bounding box and an error message. Letting go resets to the original position. Also the tiles are misplaced and scaled incorrectly when placing properties from your personal gallery. None of this was present in 0.3.6.

Hi @jacklegend13, thanks a lot for letting us know. We’ve checked and added the issue to the known issues notice. I’ll make sure to update you once there’s any news.

Floor tiles placed using Free Placement may not overlap properly.

Hi @jacklegend13 ,

There’s an update regarding this:

  • Floor tiles placed using Free Placement may not overlap properly.

After a more detailed review, we’ve confirmed that for floor tiles, it’s actually intended behavior that overlapping is not allowed, even when using Free Placement.

Could you please share the exact reproduction steps on how you previously managed to overlap floor tiles?
It would also be helpful if you could tell us which specific tiles you used — that will help us investigate further.

Thanks!

I was under the assumption all objects could overlap using ALT. All tiles do not overlap and do not resize properly, when the game is saved and loaded the tiles revert to their original size. And they overlap. That’s what threw me. I see now that this feature would cause z-fighting anyways so ignore it.
