This is a bug I’m sure happened after the update.
When I place the neon letters they shine in their default pink as usual,
but not the numbers, even though their color is set to pink.
When I move the color dot just a tiny bit, they appear pink again.
I so wish the devs wouldn’t get rushed so much and would be allowed to take their time.
How are they supposed to get all the announced stuff for the December update ready when they are busy fixing bugs?
Or they just let bugs be bugs.
Please let’s not go down the Sims 4 road. inZOI deserves better
I’m building for 2 hours now and it’s such a hassle trying to fix/find workarounds for all the buggy content.
Building was never easy in inZOI but now it’s even less fun.
Pics from before, I just threw them in and didn’t change them for this scene
Hey, let’s please try to remember that this game is still in Early Access, which means a lot is expected to be unfinished, buggy, or need fine-tuning after the update releases. Especially major ones. You know this.
Your attitude or standards may have changed because you’ve been playing with it for so long by now, but again, we are still in the unstable Early Access stage. That is what we are here for, to report these issues and help it get tuned, or to make suggestions. Nothing about this fact has changed, and they don’t seem any more “rushed” with the content they release than before… if at all. Hardly a “sims 4” situation. That’s why it’s in Early Access in the first place.
This process is definitely nothing new. We should know the cycle and the drill by now. Expecting differently all of a sudden will only cause unnecessary stress.
Report the issues as you have been, and let them be worked on. The rest is assumption and unnecessary in a bug report.
As for the reported issue itself, the same thing happens in my game as well, but I’m pretty sure this has always happened, at least in my game, because I remember it doing this ages ago when I placed them (it was definitely before July that I did this). I remember being confused by it and figuring out how to fix it.
This issue is likely caused by the state of the object defaulting to some other base value when placed rather than the value it’s meant to be, but it’s easily fixable in the game, similar to what you said, by clicking the circle in the color wheel. You don’t even have to move it, just click it.
The devs would probably just need to tune the object to default to its proper value.
It’s almost like the object functions as a normal light until you click the color, then it remembers it’s a neon light lol
The devs should take their time because it’s early access.
All the new stuff can wait until after release.
Krafton already gets pushy for a release before December next year. This is just an insane pace given that inZOI was developed for only two years before going into early access.
According to Kjun, the devs only had one and a half months to get the October update ready (and it shows) and yet they stacked a heap of new stuff in, which could have easily waited for another update/future DLC and would have spared us from many new bugs and crashes.
For the December update, they also only have one and a half month and still they decided to add a court system and businesses, which imo is content for DLCs.
The pace is just too fast to develop the existing features and bring more depth to the game to keep players involved (and fix the bugs on top of that).
All the new features might draw players in, but its not enough to make them stay.
And this already happens when you keep an eye on reddit, steam and discord.
It’s way more likely that majority of the pressure is because of player demands, not company demands. Kjun said from the beginning that Krafton has little hand in the process because they don’t understand the genre. I don’t think that the Halloween content or features were even in the plans until players started to request them, which is why it was worked on for such a short amount of time, as opposed to features that were planned for a long time. Then, once they started planning for it, they literally took all the time they could without the update being released after Halloween—asking players to be kind about the quality and quantity because they didn’t work on it for long, and not to worry because it would be improved over time, just like everything else in the game.
That doesn’t sound like being pressured by the company as much as them just wanting to give players some Halloween content before it was too late, and wanting to do more than decor of clothing items like the Sims does for this very reason. But then, after taking all the time they could, the players just complained about it being released right at Halloween… so who exactly is pressuring whom?
Every single feature they have released has been unfinished and improved over time, which is why I point out the Early Access factor. Why do you expect anything to be different this time? Because it’s a holiday event? They said several times it will be improved, so again, this is to be expected, just like every other time. And naturally, a holiday update is going to have a bigger time crunch since it has to be released by a certain date, so using this update as an example makes little sense when you think about it.
This argument reminds me of when people were complaining about Cahaya DLC being released so soon after early access started, without considering other factors, like the fact that the DLC was being worked on since before the game was even near release… We’ve gotta put things into context.
TLDR: They’re clearly trying to appease demanding players more than their company, and that much is very clear by their process during Early Access so far. Holiday event updates will understandably be more pressed for time than others, especially when it wasn’t in the plans for long (it wasn’t in the roadmap at all). All of this is expected. It will be improved over time, as they have said many times.
EDIT: Thinking about it even more…
- The devs rarely even give hard dates in advance until the update is for sure up to release (unlike EA that announces hard dates months in advance), with the exception of the holiday event update because the holiday has a set date. That in itself shows they take their time with updates are aren’t pressured to release by a set date by the actual company… that being said… Point #2.
- You know who did pressure the team to release updates quickly or on the set dates even if it needs more time? The players. Remember when they did push back an update because it needed a month more time, and the players went crazy about it saying stuff like, “This is a sign, all the updates won’t happen on time, and they’ll keep pushing stuff back further and further because the devs don’t know what they’re doing”??? Then what did the dev team do? They promised that they will try to deliver updates on the months or times they said they would from then on… so again, who is pressuring whom?
