It’s a mixture. Some are still mounds of dirt, others are about halfway. Others look like they could be harvested, but they’re dead. I had three zois looking after the crops, and I only planted a few rows to see if it would work.
Did the tree on the left also wither later? It looks still fine on the pic.
I wonder why this happens, it was fine before the update, so there should be a way to fix it.
A few of the crops made it. I got some corn, some tomatoes. But the bananas and pumpkins all died. If you look at the row of tomatoes, the plants on the far left look like they’re nearly ready, but their dead. The two next to that are clearly dead. The ones on the right were fine and were harvested.
There’s no obvious cause, as everything was watered and fertilised to the same degree.
@LittleBrownBiscuit how fast after watering did it happen with the latest fix in your game?
My experience before the update broke it was, that watering was enough like every second day for the plants to be Ok. After the update they died often even if watered once a day. When I switched to 2 times a day most of them survived but of course very annoying to spend that much time per day for watering.
Now after the fix it is back to be Ok to water every second day, the water level drops much slower again in my game.
So seems the fix worked for some but not all of us. Or was there a heatwave or something?
I was careful to not let moisture drop below 70%, so I had the zois watering regularly and also employed farmers to help, even though they only worked on random plot. I made up for that by checking every crop and giving them what they needed.
Before the update crop growing wasn’t a problem. Since the hotfix, some crops grow, but it’s really frustrating as my zoi Zayla (RIP Zayla) loved gardening, so this was something that she missed.
The it’s a blessing in disguise that I am turned off of the game (because of the insane length of eating since that patch). If not I might have lost all of my 150+ crops from my farming game
I’m actually having the same problem. I literally keep my plants nurtured and watered and everytime I wake up they are wilted. I thought it was just me having issues. Glad to see I’m not the only one. I’m actually going to try and build a shelter and see if that makes a difference.
Hi everyone (@here),
First of all, we’re sorry for the inconvenience this issue has caused. We’ve had trouble reproducing it on our end, so if you’re still experiencing crops withering too quickly, please refer to the guide below and share your save file with us so we can take a closer look.
It is really strange and I was able to reproduce it on my end.
What is really strange: I had the issue before the fix came out as well and was playing in Bliss Bay. After the fix it never happened again in my Bliss Bay save.
Now I started a new save in Cahaya and was playing for 5 in game days and strongly focusing on gardening with the current Zoi. She has a garden with 24 plants and first round all went well. She was able to harvest all the plants and they only needed watering every second or third day before the watering level started droping below 80%. Now the second round of planting it looked all good first, but then all of a sudden something seems to have kicked in and the plants started to lose watering level so fast that you are not even able to water them all before they wilt.
The Zoi went to sleep when all plants were above 80%, some even at 98% and checked in the morning: still the case. Then she started to weed and was planning to water some of the plants afterwards. While doing so I noticed that some plants had droped to watering level 30%. This means in only like 2-3 in game hours from between 98-80% to 30% and they continued to drop as fast that you can watch it when hovering over the plant. So she immediately started to water but was not even able to water all of them in time anymore.
There was no heatwave, at least no notification about one.
Now I checked my autosaves and reloaded one from in the middle of the night and really was able to reproduce the strange behavior. The same thing happened next morning. First all plants still fine and then all of a sudden the watering level starts to drop like crazy.
Here is the save just before the droping starts next moring around 9-10am in game time.
Really strange… also with the potentially invisible heatwave. Of course if this is it what causes it. Apart from that might be also the same with the puddles like discussed in the other thread. Maybe the game thinks it did rain and we just did not see that.
My feeling is that it has more impact on Cahaya then e.g. Bliss Bay. In Bliss Bay something like that with invisible heatwaves or puddles without rain did not happen. Also no issues with the plants since the hotfix.
Cannot judge for Dowon as I haven`t played there for a while.
PS: do heatwaves have a certain celsius temperature when they start?
I haven´t payed attention to it when the last ones occured. I could check with my save just before the massive droping started to see how high the temperature went up when it started.
I’ve been playing in Cahaya for months now, so that’s probably why the failure rate is so high.
The heatwaves that I’ve seen have had a temperature of 40 degrees C. It’s annoying when it happens because all the zois go home, everything shuts, then when the heatwave is over, they don’t come back until the next day.
This just happened in my fresh new game with the latest 0.4.5 hotfix. No mods of any kind.
Planted all my crops at the same time (well it took most of the day, but from 6am to about 2pm)
Next day half of them were at 50% water already, and the other half at 89%.
So I watered the half that was low and pulled all the weeds off, that was from 6pm-8pm.
Next day after that, the half that was at 89% fell down to 48% around 6pm..
No heatwaves no bad weather notification. So I started watering them again, but got automatically teleported without my consent to one of those fitness clubs (well I was scheduled, but usually schedules do not teleport, except weddings)…
Anyways, I came back from the event at 10.30pm and those that were at 48% were all withered and dead.
This feels REALLY off based on early Cahaya. They are draining moisture really, really fast and all of a sudden.
This was in the 96minute days, all crops were pumpkin crops.
Please fix that, it’s hard work to get a large patch going and so infuriating when it gets destroyed like this.
Thank you.
Okay I went to sleep at 11pm, and was hovering on a well watered crop patch.
They dropped 4% every 10min at some point, had to wake my zoi up to water 4 of the patches that dropped to 32% by the time I got to them, from 85% before going to bed.
So that’s a 50% drop in 3hrs of game time, 96min length of day as I said earlier. Definitely something off.
