Until today I had only seen parent<->child, sibling & roommate relationship titles. Please let me know if this is old news or if it hadn’t been spotted yet.

It’s not new. It was already like that pre-0.20.
It’s just that since 0.20 hit in June 2025, it took 84 days to become a granddad, and elders died at 90 (between 90-92, 80% of the time).
So assuming your male zoi had his first kid at 42 days (Young adult is 40, your woman takes 3 days to give birth so 40-41-42). Then your daughter needs to reach 40 to young adult, and another 3 days to give birth (40-41-42)… total 84 days. And those 84 days are if you do not lose a single day and get pregnant the very first day of young adult.
You may say, well 84 to get a grandkid, I live to 90-92 - still time to meet them right ? Wrong.
Newborn for 3 days. then toddler for 6 days. By the time the baby is a Child, the grandparent was dead.
That gave very little chance of seeing the Granddad/Grandmother titles going around !
However with the (supposed) control over the age group coming in December, we might be able to have generations take less than 42days depending you what settings ppl will put in these stages.
