I got consent from the other parent, but the baby only has one parent (the carrier) in the family tree and it looks like they might be a clone of the carrier. PLEASE FIX THIS. I swear this has happened to me twice.
Yes, this has happened to me twice too (back in April). It’s really annoying.
I also have two families like that. Since my two Sims couldn’t give birth because of the bug that had occurred, not even with cheats, I had canceled the pregnancies and had the babies with medical help, but only the mothers, who performed the procedure on the PC, appear to be parents, while the father roommates, even though I had selected them in the option.
I can confirm that. I made a couple with 2 ladies (they were not married) then had one do the medical procedure
One of the 2 ladies is seen as mother, the other is roommate only. The mother one moved away shortly after and left the “roommate” one as the child’s only caretaker (gotta love dramma!)
Would be nice if it was taken into account with the titles (mom/dad/etc)
Since I do not use the computer thing often, I only noticed this once in 0.4.0 era.
Come to think of it, neither of my couples were married either. I’m going to see if them not being married is the issue as soon as I can. Regardless, it needs a fix.
UPDATE: So far from what I’ve gathered, opposite gender couples married or not work fine now. Same gender couples who are unmarried only show one parent. However, married same gender couples DO work!
So, we need a fix for unmarried same gender couples.

You gave me an answer in the newer thread and told me it was made this way by design, so what do you want me to screenshot exactly? I checked the baby again and it’s not a clone but only the parent who applied for a medical baby shows in the family tree as a parent.

In our previous response, we explained that the current design specification recognizes only the applicant as the legal parent if the couple is not married, regardless of gender.
However, from your explanation I understood that unmarried opposite-gender couples appear to show as both parents. If that is the case, this behavior may differ from the current design and would require further investigation.
To help us verify this, I wanted you to share one of the following:
A screenshot of the family tree showing both parents registered for an unmarried opposite-gender couple after Medical Birth
The save file where this scenario occurs
If this is different from what I understood, please tell me! Thank you.

I unfortunately no longer have the particular save that showed the baby with both unmarried opposite gender parents listed in the family tree. However, I distinctly remember the symbol that showed between the two parents was a heart which showed for Sweethearts, and that I had a glitched pregnancy in that save and had to use removepregnancy cheat and then do a Medical Birth afterwards. It never showed both parents or that heart symbol for same gender couples.
However, I tried it in my current save and now it only shows one parent for unmarried Medical Births regardless of gender. If this is by design it is extremely frustrating and I hope allowing both parents to show regardless of marital status will be considered.
