Social Media System With Fame, Burnout & Career Paths

Social Media Platforms:

Add multiple social media platforms inside the game, such as:

  • A photo/video platform (Instagram or TikTok style)

  • A short text platform (Twitter/X style)

  • Long-form content platforms like YouTube or podcasting

Each platform should feel different and have its own style of posting, engagement, and growth.

Posting About Daily Life:

Zois should be able to post about what they did that day, such as work, dates, events, trips, festivals, scandals, protests, or world events. Posts can be automatically generated based on gameplay so social media always reflects what’s happening in the world.

Algorithm-Style Feed:

The social media feed should work like an algorithm, showing a mix of:

  • Your own posts

  • Posts from friends

  • Trending topics

  • Random posts from other Zois

  • World news, drama, and scandals

Friends & Social Connections:

Zois should be able to add friends on social media. Friends should appear more often in your feed and interact with your posts more frequently.

Business Advertising:

You should be able to advertise your business on social media. Advertising should greatly increase visits from other Zois, customer traffic, sales, and overall business popularity.

Content Creator Careers:

Zois should be able to become content creators, including vloggers, dancers, influencers, YouTubers, and podcasters.

Ways to record content:

  • Holding a phone while walking around

  • Using a tripod

  • Buying a drone that follows the Zoi while filming

Editing & Uploading:

  • Uploading directly from the phone posts unedited content

  • Editing videos on a computer improves quality and performance

  • Edited videos perform better and grow followers faster

Grinding vs Viral Fame:

Most Zois should grow slowly by posting consistently over time.

There should also be a very rare chance that one post goes extremely viral and gains a massive number of followers (hundreds of thousands or even a million). This should be extremely rare and tightly randomized, like winning the lottery.

Career Transitions:

Zois should be able to do social media while working a regular job.

If social media becomes successful enough, Zois should be able to quit their job and become full-time content creators.

Burnout System:

The more a Zoi posts, the higher their burnout level becomes. Burnout increases faster when:

  • Posting too often

  • Responding to comments constantly

  • Managing social media while working another job

Burnout should cause frustration, irritability, exhaustion, and emotional stress.

Negative Comments & Depression:

Negative comments, audience pressure, and sponsor demands should affect a Zoi’s mood. Over time, this can lead to sadness, anxiety, or depression related to social media.

Creative Block:

At high burnout levels, Zois should experience creative block. During this state:

  • Zois may refuse to post

  • Uploads may get canceled

  • Motivation to create content drops

  • Forcing posts makes their mood worse

Social Media Breaks & Recovery:

To recover from burnout and creative block, Zois should need breaks from social media. This could include:

  • Temporarily stopping posts

  • Avoiding social media apps

  • Taking a vacation and disconnecting from their phone

Recovery should take time and feel gradual, not instant.

High-Fame Pressure:

As follower counts grow, Zois should receive more pressure, including:

  • Comments asking for more content

  • Higher posting expectations

  • More sponsor offers with deadlines
