I think the current “toddler” age groups behave more like infants instead of toddlers. These current “toddlers” in InZoi are actually technically infants because infants typically range between being 6 months- 1 year old, they start learning how to crawl around, and are smaller and less capable of walking on their feet.
Actually toddlers are considered to be between the ages of 2-3 years old, are more typically mobile on their feet (aka the term “toddling” which describes the way they walk or toddle on their feet)… This is the age where they at least get to the point of being able to walk around (toddling) on their own while their bodies are growing more bigger in comparison to their heads.
I think in terms of the way the sims 4 modeled their newborn, infant, and toddler stages is the most accurate depiction of what the actual early childhood stages would look and behave like realistically. Now I’m not saying this should be an immediate change in terms of how many other things that still needs to be worked on… but I do think it’s an important start for InZoi maybe a month or 2 out of early access at the latest…But yes this age group does help family life feel more immersive and less “rushed” because the babies do go from looking like… well.. babies, straight into looking more like adolescents…

Hi there! This has been already whislisted here, in case you want to join the conversation. Unfortunately for the moment there is not plan on introducing new life stages, as said by Kjun in the second part of the latest AMA. They seem to be focusing on perfecting existing systems instead of adding new ones, so for that you would have to wait for later to see if it’ll be added.
Q: will we see the other life stages in the future like babies, toddlers, and adolescents in the creation mode, and will there be an adjustments to these life stages and also to the teenagers, to make teenagers different from the young adults (submitted by u/Mizuki34)
A: We don’t have plans to add additional life stages such as babies, toddlers, or adolescents at this moment. The development cost for introducing new stages is quite high, which makes it difficult for now. Our focus until the official launch will be on polishing and expanding the existing content.

Thanks! I see that post is exactly what I was proposing here but i think in one or 2 months out of early access they should start considering this a higher priority especially sense more and more people are requesting for it! I definitely think they should start considering this after early access though when the game is more of a finished product

Honestly, i think the best thing they could do in the future is to rename current toddlers to infants and just create a new lifestage

I feel the game is indeed missing a “young child” life stage (Call it infant if you want, fine with it).
It would fit in a realistic aging setting (or later when the max age is not limited to 100, in any settings).
Like :
Day one - Newborn
Day two and three - Toddler
Day 4-5-6 – Infant / Young Child
Then resume.
Even if it is after release, even if as a DLC, I would love to have that myself.
Don’t know what gameplay differentiation we’d get between Infant, child and toddler so the new stage wins its keep, but if only for a progressive growth (young Child between child and toddler in height) it would be great for immersion.
Later when we can live for more than 100 days, having that stage last a week (7 days) would be very cool.
If the devs remain open about the game, I figure it’s only a matter of time.
Kjun himself said he regretted not having a dedicated Adolescent size, so my money is on future content when they can dedicate an entire DLC on the new life stages - which would make sense.

Exactly just swap toddler and infant because infants are younger than toddlers but I agree… I actually thought all of the life stages would have different body models before the game came out when they showed a list of all of the different life stages that were going to be in InZoi but I was wrong sadly… i actually think teens had a different body model in the early early beginning stages and they changed it to be similar to adults… no clue why…
Maybe not add new lifestages as dlc, but if they released enough gameplay for the younget livestages to warrant a dlc (think sims 3), i would 100% pay good money for it (and im sure others would too)
