You should calm down, they heard that we want an open world system. And I understood that they will follow a different path by preserving this (from my perspective). That’s why you shouldn’t complain that the open world is over.
Unfortunately, I just read about it on Discord.
And also about the day length reduction, which will arrive with the October update.
Now we’ll just have to wait and see.
Yes, we will wait and see - but I am very disappointed that they are going against the original USP. A a lot of us bought the game because of the open world (at least in part), and we may now be sidelined in an attempt to make more money for shareholders. Sorry, if this affects gameplay, that is bad practice.
Likewise shortening the day length in such a way that there is no real option to keep the settings as they are if we want - not cool, not happy.
Same as you.
Also, if I understand instancing to sell more, I don’t remember why they ended up reducing the number of days.
I expressed my opinion here and on Discord, and it seemed to me that the majority agreed.
I hope all the improvements made will offset the negatives.
What I don’t understand is why you’re so fixated on day lengths. 48 minutes and 96 minutes are already fine and I use 48 minutes. Otherwise, why would I wait 30 minutes in my own time zone just to see the solstice? It’s ridiculous. This is a game and it’s perfectly normal for me to want to see more than one solstice in the game.
I’m “obsessed” with the length of the day because it’s important to me.
For example: I have three teenagers in my family, and I use the “Agenda” option (I’m translating from Italian, I don’t know if it’s the same in English) to send them to three different locations, where they meet friends and/or boyfriends (from my other families, whom I send there with the same option). They have four hours. If those four hours last 16 minutes for me, I have time to “jump” from one to the other to ensure everyone gets their interactions. If they last eight minutes, no.
While the kids are at school, I follow their parents; same thing. If everyone is at work/school, I use the “Skip” option.
At night, there’s automatic speedup.
The problem arises because the reduction in needs is optimized over the standard duration. For me, 96 minutes is now the optimal balance between managing needs and the rest of life
But if they’re optimized for 48, playing 96 will cause the Zoi’s needs to decrease much more frequently. I tried playing for 4 hours, but as we say in Italy, “the game wasn’t worth the candle”: the time gained is then wasted in satisfying needs, and for me it becomes boring. I’m much more interested in relationships than the needs-related aspect of the game.
So it would be fine if every option was optimized.
I don’t know if I was clear because I use the translator.
A change to a default day length of 48 minutes will cause issues for the majority of us who wanted to keep the 96 minutes day length (or play with the other options)
I’ve already posted it, and everyone’s referencing the proposal that works for us. We’re moving forward. This isn’t the kind of topic where it’s just “I want”—it’s also about what the publisher wants: lots of copies sold, and players on low-end PCs. So we stick together, with full respect for the developers and for each other.
I might not be entirely right, someone else might not be either – but notice: when we stay silent, they can take that as agreement. And any suggestion, even what might seem like most questionable idea about realistic grouping NPC Zois in families / crowd logic, ends up in development. Don’t underestimate your contribution.
For example, I don’t want to see the inside of every neighbor’s house in the game. It seems ridiculous. If I’m going to visit a neighbor, I ring the doorbell and if they accept me, I want to see the inside of the house (sims 3 logic). @GDfromRivendell
Solstice is the longest day of the year, so not sure if that is what you mean in this context. Translator issue, maybe?
But to answer your question, we are “fixated” on day lengths because they are not being changed in isolation. As Mialuce and LennyOgg’s posts clarify, the needs will be configured to the new default of 48, meaning that they all decay twice as fast. For those of us using the current default of 96, this will mean that we have to spend a lot more time trying to meet those needs, and eating/sleeping etc. may even be required an unrealistic amount during the course of an in-game day.
For anyone using longer day-lengths, this will become even more true than it is now, and players have complained about it already.
What we really need is the ability to tailor needs decay, that way anyone can play at any day length (including 24 hour) with whatever need regulation they want. As it stands, the shortest duration will be the “standard”, which means all other options are less viable the longer they become.
I understand. But look at it from the other side: instancing works both ways – just as you don’t simulate what’s inside the building from the outside, you don’t simulate what’s outside from inside the building either. Was anyone against hiding interiors? No. It’s just that, for now, there hasn’t been a proposal to handle them with simplified logic. So even if you can’t see inside, the Zois are actively simulating.
For many, InZOI is a huge source of hope – and its world. Our first goal is to make sure those hopes aren’t shattered. Then, gradually, we’ll introduce adjustments.
Many of us have already posted about that, and we have largely agreed that would work. But TS3 did not make you go through a loading screen to visit the neighbour like TS4 did, that is the difference, and loading screens is what is going to be introduced in this game, along with the rest of the simulation being frozen while in an instanced zone.
That is what we are not convinced by as it goes against the whole “open world” idea that Inzoi was supposed to embrace.
Okay, he already said today that he heard that we wanted an open world, so there would be no loading screen. I didn’t fully understand the dungeon’s system, but I think he’s talking about the inside being visible when the bell rings. also @GDfromRivendell @SmallArchangel
The “dungeons” system is referencing games like Skyrim, and MMO instances, where there is a loading screen to enter. So yes, there will be loading screens, because that is what Kjun means by “dungeons system”.
They have heard our comments about the open world, but they are doing this anyway as their main priority - rightly or wrongly - is to reduce load on hardware and try to make the game playable on lower end systems. That means our open world is at risk whether they are hearing us or not.
If it were that simple, it wouldn’t feel like a trade-off. Until proven otherwise, we can’t accept it. Looking foolish isn’t a sentence for me – agreeing before verifying is. Kjun doesn’t say it’s a complex topic for no reason. If he’s mentioning Apple M1, which doesn’t support many Unreal technologies like Nanite — the very tools that allow us to carry this heavy project — then we’re already in a risk zone.

In December, we also plan to introduce a “Small City,” which, even if it comes with some loading, will allow smoother play on lower-spec PCs. This is another area where your feedback will be really valuable.

One of our core goals is to ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience for as many players as possible. Recently, we’ve started considering options outside our original design scope to achieve that. Specifically, we’re looking at replacing key locations with separate instances that players would enter through a short loading screen. The remaining parts of the map, to be used for travel and exploration, would remain open world.

You are giving wrong information. That question was answered and today he said that he will continue the open world event that he asked us in PART 2 because everyone wants it, that is old news. You should not confuse the players with old news. @LennyOgg
Forget the reddit incident because he answered it. And he said the open world will continue with the return of the players.
ı don’t think that because They said that people definitely did not want the loading screen and that they saw it.
I think you need to post an image of the latest information you are referencing, for those of us who cannot access Discord.
