I’d love to see more variety in meals and also group meals implemented in the game. Currently, children can’t make their own meals and therefore need to ask an older person to make one for them. Either that or you can set a table for group meals.
It would be way easier to be able to make group meals for your family. Maybe have the meals in the same menu as when you’re making one for yourself aswel. This way it’s easy to find and more organised.
There are currently 33 meals to cook which is quite impressive for an early access game imo 
And afaik, 6 of them are group meals (in the same menu):
Base Game: Fried Chicken, Pizza, 2x Cake and Steak
Island Getaway: Mango Sweet Rice and Banana Q
plus the Soup you can serve directly at the table by just clicking on it (the table)
Children can go to the fridge and pick from 7 diffrent dishes
Plus all the cooked meals can be put in the fridge and the kids can take them out
