I found that every time my Zoi goes to a place with a swimming pool, if I don’t control him, he will never go swimming. Even if I control him to go swimming, I still need to use WASD to control which direction he goes. This feels very boring. I hope to give him the autonomy to swim.
I agree - it would be nice if they swim on their own or just swim around after instruction.
I’m having so much trouble with my Zois doing things autonomously (like that stupid ‘Wander Around’ thing and these unnecessary movements when I just want to take a photo -.-) even though I’ve turned autonomy off - and this one thing where autonomy would be actually be useful, they don’t ![]()
It’s so tiring to tell them to swim all the time, even more so when you have more Zois in the pool/ocean.
And so I whish we could remove all those icons -.-
I want this too! For my zois and NPC zois as well (so long as they have enough energy).
I gave all my played zois the preference for swimming in hopes that they would swim autonomously or at least get an urge to go swimming, but neither happened.
I also want to be able to send my zoi to the pool to “swim around” which would be randomly swimming around and pausing at times to just enjoy the experience. I’d also like the option to “swim for exercise” which would make them swim back and forth (but only be an option on pools, not the ocean), and would raise fitness as well as swimming skill, and can cause the same negative emotions as a hard workout.
But first and foremost, zois should go swimming if they prefer the activity, have enough energy, and are not engaged in other activities.
Also, please add swimming as an activity for parties!
My pool party was kind of lame.
I can imagine! ![]()
I suppose they might have made swimming non-autonomous as there is danger of death involved, if energy runs out…
@LennyOgg Agree absolutely about those icons, why can they at least not disappear in photo mode? Crazy to have them visible and spoiling our story-telling. NO idea what your zoi’s are doing in that second pic, is that a guy idle thing, or what?? I have only played female characters so far.
Yeah, autonomous swimming should only happen when the zoi has full energy because of the risk.
I can understand if they don’t make autonomous swimming possible at the ocean in Cahaya or Bliss Bay because it’s too dangerous (not only risk of drowning, but also dangerous creatures in the water).
Perhaps only for swimming pools because they are limited in size (so it won’t be hard to get out if their energy falls to half or something).
Totally off topic, but one thing I hate about photo mode isn’t just some icons won’t go away, but that you can’t use it if your zoi is holding something! Like, I’M trying to take the picture, not my zoi! They’re not pulling out their smartphone to take the picture.
Isn’t Photo Mode supposed to be for the player? It shouldn’t matter what the zoi is doing. ![]()
Yes, it’s the idle animation and it’s driving me crazy, they do this all the time and I can’t stop it -.-
Some of these icons disappear in photo mode, but in live mode it also just breaks the immersion and the flow for me.
I like the direct control mode of being able to swim in pools and the ocean. But I’d like an option to click for them to swim for 30 mins and it’d be an animation play if I want to go do something else with another character.
I don’t think full energy should be a requirement for autonomous swimming. If the zoi is going to be acting freely, they would “know” that their energy was low and act accordingly; they could swim more slowly or float on their back. They could swim for a little while, then stop, or swim over to a pool ring and bob around.
In the sims, I once had a teen who went swimming when he was really tired. I tried to stop him, but he went anyway. He drowned. It was a shame, his father was devastated, but it was a part of the game. It became a part of the story. We need a bit more of that.
It feels like the swimming was only part-ready when it was released with Cahaya. It may have been better if swimming pools were added later so that swimming only happened in the ocean, where controlling movement makes more sense.
Swimming may well be only part-implemented at this point, this is true of many aspects of the game after all. We will see how it develops as time goes on.
I agree that it would be great if zoi’s could be directed to swim and then left to it; this is also true of most actions however, as no activities really take long enough to be able to switch between zois without high levels of micro-management.
I’m on board! A pool party doesn’t feel the same if zois are not going in an out the pool by themselves and swimming. Some added autonomous actions between zois while inside water would be a good addition too!
I think parties, in general, are missing from inzoi
Its true that it can be improved and a lot more can be added to this area, hopefully in the future ![]()
Good News:

Swimming Controls
You requested a point-and-click interaction that allows players to command Zois to “Swim” or “Exercise” by clicking on a swimming pool. This would be an essential accessibility feature for those who find direct control difficult. We’re currently designing a system where Zois can freely swim and rest at intervals. However, implementing conversation while swimming has proven more difficult than expected, so that part is taking extra time. If necessary, we plan to first release free swimming movement before adding conversational interactions later.

All sounds good, promising. I can’t remember if Sims can talk while swimming? I know there are various interactions, like floating, or splashing one another, which would also be cool to add.
Guess I haven’t played in a while!
Here’s hoping we get some more water-based interactions (technically, any water-based interactions at all, given for now swimming is user-directed only!)
