Steak is broken

  • Game Version:

  • Platform: (Steam windows / Steam Mac / Mac)

  • Mods: (Choose one: never used / removed / active)

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…):

  • Steps to Reproduce:

When cooking the steak, after it is finished, my zoi puts it on a table and does not eat from it automatically, he proceeds to make himself something different to eat instead.

The steak cannot be used to call others to have a group meal.

The steak cannot be picked up to be put into the fridge (“you cannot use that”) but you can put the steak into your pocket inventory.

PC, Steam, no mods, GPU 3080TI, Win 10

Have you checked if there is some weird pathing issue with the table the steak gets placed on?

I one time made a steak and my zoi placed it on a table that had a pathing issue which made them unable to eat it.

Just tried it. Everything works fine in my game.
Maybe try in another household or place test furniture with enough space around (and maybe also without ALT) to try again.
Did you never use mods or have you just enabled them?
Check also if the mod folders are completely empty and clear the cache.

I moved the table many times and I also tried putting the steak on a kitchen counter, I can pick it up and put it in my pocket, but regardless where it is, I cannot put it into the fridge.

I think there will be a better chance to solve this if we find out where it went wrong and how it is possible to reproduce the bug you reported.
If this lands on the desk of a developer, where can he start to look into it when it should work fine for him like it is in my game?
We all know how busy they are so it’s best to make it easier for them so it can get solved quickly.

For this we need as many information as possible.
You could start a new game and play one of the premade households and try to reproduce the steps.

There is also still the question if you use(d) mods.
In inZOI, the term ‘Mod’ includes anything you downloaded from a content creator (also clothes).
And it can also be a totally unrelated mod.
(Once I tried to mod a cushion and it messed with my Zois hair colour.)
And even if you disable the mods, parts of them can remain, so it’s important to check if both mod folders are completely empty and the cache is cleared.

I think I found the problem. It was the type of fridge I used (the fridge with the integrated ice cube machine for 3200 bucks) - when I switched to another fridge, I never had the trouble with not being able to put in food anymore.
