Tomato disappeared while extracting seeds

When I tried to “Extract seeds” from a Lackluster Tomato, I did not get any seeds in my bag/hand and my Lackluster Tomato disappeared.

I’m not sure this is a bug, I lost most of my first crop this way, trying and failing to extract seeds causes the crop to disappear. I have much better quality produce now, but seed extraction still fails to the point where it is not worth doing as it uses up half my harvest, and seeds are far cheaper than losing the profit I get from selling the crops.
