Waiting Families are Aging
: Waiting families are aging despite “Not Aging” settings

I have the aging option set to “On” only for Families with homes (Playing Households&Nonplaying Households). For families on waiting (Families with no Houses), I have manually unchecked the aging box in the ‘waiting family list’ so they do not age.

However, I noticed something strange. One day, I had to change the setting for families with homes to “Not Aging” under Game Options > Simulation. After playing for a while, I realized that the “waiting families(Families with no Houses)” had aged.

Thinking I might have accidentally changed their settings, I checked the boxes for all “waiting family list.” To my surprise, they were all still correctly checked as “Not Aging.” It appears that if you toggle the aging setting for housed families from “On” to “Off,” the standby families begin to age regardless of their individual settings. I am not sure if this is an intended feature or a bug.

This is because ever since I set the housed families to “Not Aging,” I have occasionally spotted some of the Waiting families(Families with no Houses)—those labeled as “Not in the City”—wandering around the city.

I initially assumed this was a deliberate design choice by the developers to add vitality and dynamics to the world. I thought, “Ah, since the housed families are no longer aging, the game is bringing these standby families into the city to keep the environment feeling alive.”

If this is indeed intended, I think having Families with no Houses appear in the city is a fantastic idea for immersion. However, they should still strictly follow their “Not Aging” setting. They can be part of the city’s dynamic atmosphere, but they should not be aging up against the player’s configuration.

I have numerous families I actively play every now and then per save file. A few Zois stay put in a separate household which has no home in the world.
Just like you described, my mostly active families are allowed to age by checking the box on the bottom of their household picture / icon in family household view. The one household not “in the world” is unchecked, so they aren’t allowed to age. In my system settings I’ve kept “on” for aging since launch last March.
So far I haven’t experienced any unwanted aging.

Would you please upload the affected save file, so the devs can detect the root of this potential bug easier?
