Waiting Families are Aging
: Waiting families are aging despite âNot Agingâ settings
I have the aging option set to âOnâ only for Families with homes (Playing Households&Nonplaying Households). For families on waiting (Families with no Houses), I have manually unchecked the aging box in the âwaiting family listâ so they do not age.
However, I noticed something strange. One day, I had to change the setting for families with homes to âNot Agingâ under Game Options > Simulation. After playing for a while, I realized that the âwaiting families(Families with no Houses)â had aged.
Thinking I might have accidentally changed their settings, I checked the boxes for all âwaiting family list.â To my surprise, they were all still correctly checked as âNot Aging.â It appears that if you toggle the aging setting for housed families from âOnâ to âOff,â the standby families begin to age regardless of their individual settings. I am not sure if this is an intended feature or a bug.
This is because ever since I set the housed families to âNot Aging,â I have occasionally spotted some of the Waiting families(Families with no Houses)âthose labeled as âNot in the Cityââwandering around the city.
I initially assumed this was a deliberate design choice by the developers to add vitality and dynamics to the world. I thought, âAh, since the housed families are no longer aging, the game is bringing these standby families into the city to keep the environment feeling alive.â
If this is indeed intended, I think having Families with no Houses appear in the city is a fantastic idea for immersion. However, they should still strictly follow their âNot Agingâ setting. They can be part of the cityâs dynamic atmosphere, but they should not be aging up against the playerâs configuration.
