  • Steps to Reproduce: Play as a Zoi with Tour Guide or Sea Turtle Conservation career in Cahaya. Click on any bookshelf > Write Something > Any career related writing assignment (e.g.; “List 3 common questions and write sample answers”, “Summarize tourist approach reactions”, etc.) Zois will approach the bookshelf, pick-up a book, and then immediately put it back without completing the task.

  • Please provide the entire save file(s) from the date when the issue occurred. : Irrelevant, bug is reproducible in new save with no mods active.

  • Details:
    :round_pushpin: Please share the date, error message, or screenshots/videos for issue verification. : There are no error message. The actions simply fail to complete.

We’ve had it quite sometimes that the desk+chair was unavailable. Sometimes the chair does not snap properly to the table and it can only be accessed from one side.

Could you mabe build a setup somewhere with bookshelf, chair and desk with nothing around and make sure the chair and the desk are properly connected (I often have to turn the camera to achieve this).

I had this happened in Sari Kecil house (I think I build the second default preset that has a desk, chair, and PC combo.) I tried removing the PC (so the Zoi can use the desk) and the action still fail.

The Zoi had no problem using the PC though, so I figured the desk and chair was in the right configuration.

Additionally, the Write Journal/Diary interaction can happen successfully without issue.

My game is up to date according to my Steam library. I’ve never used any mods, though I do have cheats active. I’m running a PC with Windows 10.

I’ve started having this issue as well, exactly as described above. I have not had any issues with having Zois complete writing tasks previously, as they had had urges to write in their respective diaries There are two Zois in that specific household. Whenever they would journal, they would visit the bookshelf in the bedroom, then write at the counter in the adjacent dining/ kitchen space.

When attempting to have the Sea Turtle Conservationist Zoi perform the “Summarize tourist approach reactions” work task, the Zoi will pull a book from the bookshelf, as expected. However, during the “look for place to sit” action, rather than moving, they place the book back in the bookshelf, which cancels the action.

I’ve tried moving the bookshelf, trying a different bookshelf, buying a new bookshelf, buying a new desk set up, and rearranging the room for better access to relevant objects.

Editing to add:
I found a way to force the Zoi to complete the task, but you have to have them as the active Zoi for it to work and be quick to pause. Since the action fails during the “look for a place to sit” sub-task, I paused as the Zoi was retrieving the notebook from the bookshelf. Wait until the Zoi has the notebook in their hand, pause time, then cancel the “look for a place to sit” sub-task. They should stand there with the notebook in their hand. From here, you can manually route them to a desk and click on the notebook and choose the task you wish to have completed.
