(new_engine) sudden severe sporadic lag?

  • Game Version: new_engine (v5.6)

  • Platform: Steam windows

  • Mods: None

  • Hardware Specifications & Operating System (OS version, CPU, GPU, RAM, storage…): AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS w/Radeon 780M Graphics with 16GB GPU 34 BG Memory… I was able to comfortably use Ultra settings before the new_engine switch

  • Steps to Reproduce: Happens regularly with all different settings in-game

  • Details:
    :round_pushpin: Please share the date, error message, or screenshots/videos for issue verification: No error message. This has been happening every five minutes or so for the last couple hours. I’ll be doing anything and suddenly the game will lag before returning to normal after a few minutes. I’ve tried lower settings and nothing seems to be working :face_holding_back_tears::growing_heart: please help?

Hey there, thanks for reporting this. I assume this has something to do with your Radeon 780m graphics card, but please reply with a Dxdiag file if possible. If you haven’t created one before, here’s a short guide on how to do it from the official team:

Thank you for your comment. I solved the issue by clearing out my shader cache folders between the last version and this version of unreal.
