Since I’ve read multiple posts about sudden deaths of players’ Zois when they’re not actively playing them and just witnessed it myself, I decided to write down my “workaround”. Resurrection is meant to get implemented in the future but isn’t here to save us yet.
Important information: The Zoi you want to “revive” has to be a ghost in your household. Usually this happens when their karma is too low to go to Zoi heaven directly. The ghosts stay 3 in-game days in your household, so make sure you don’t waste too much time.
- open the market app on the phone of another household member
- go to “services” and buy “spiritual guide” (it’s the last service offered in the tab)
- when the guide arrives, choose the interaction called something like “tell which soul you want to talk to”
- now your deceased Zoi should be visible in their ghost form
- click on the contact list of your living Zoi → open the deceased one’s profile there and take a screenshot / write down everything you need to know, e.g. likes / dislikes, etc.
- click on the ghost and make him your active Zoi (by clicking the small arrow below his name)
- use “showzoiinfo true” cheat
- then use “customzoi [ghost Zoi ID]” cheat → this opens the ghost in Create-A-Zoi
- save everything you need in your presets (e.g. face, every single outfit, etc.)
- leave CAZ and go to the world map view
- create a new family → load in all the saved presets, fill out all information, give them the name they used to have, etc.
- move the new family (= formerly ghost Zoi) into the household they’re supposed to live with → this can be done by clicking “move Zois between families”
Welcome the formerly deceased Zoi back! You can get more immersion if you use cheats to get their friendship / romance / business relationship level back up with everyone.
