Curseforge crashing. New popup- application hung, will now close

When i click curseforge, i originally had VRAM crashes, now i have “application hung, will now close” popups after a continuous black “loading content” screen. Hangs on curseforge load about 15 minutes.

  • Game version ~ 2026/06/24.13421.w

  • Platform ~ Steam, Windows

  • CPU ~ AMD Ryzen 7 2700

  • GPU ~ Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 (6GB)

  • RAM ~ 32GB

  • OS version ~ Windows 11 Pro 26200.8655

  • Storage (SSD/HDD) ~ 1TB SSD

  • Whether you’ve never used mods, removed them, or still have active mods ~ I do use mods, I’ve tried removing with no luck. Both the .paks folder & the documents mod folder. Even my textures & canvas files just in case.

  • Whether only the Browse CurseForge button is affected or if Connect also has issues. ~ Yes only curseforge is affected. connect works well, just verified!

  • Whether the standalone CurseForge application works normally outside the game. ~ If you mean the genuine Curseforge app, yes. it runs well, is updated and recognizes my other downloaded games.

  • Whether this started after the June update, after using Sync Mods, after removing mods, or without any obvious trigger. ~ Yes this is only after the June update. I actually reverted my game back to the 04/29 update to continue using curseforge until this is fixed.

  • Have you verified the files in Steam? ~ Yes i have

  • Are you using any mods from outside of curseforge, or script mods at all? I had a couple downloaded locally though .paks (a phone app icon pack & replacement hairs), but I’ve tried loading with both forms of mods removed.
