Like in The Sims 3: that in the library (in addition to reading any book) you could buy recipe books or skill books and not have them all available at home by default. It would add more depth to the game and give us another reason to spend money.

Yes, I agree. This is in addition to what I have previously suggested.
Yes i agree that it makes perfect sense to buy these kinds of skill books from bookstores. But we should have the freedom to place the books we buy on our own bookshelves at home.
