I thought it might be helpful to have a thread for all the things we come across in the game but can’t really identify or understand.
For example:
What does a certain thought bubble mean?
Why did my Zoi get this message?
What does a certain memory mean, or what triggered it?
What does a certain symbol mean?
Right now, for example, I have the following situation:
My Zoi is currently in pre-trial detention. I placed a workbench so he could use the time for, um… further training. Now he has this thought bubble above his head and I have no idea what it means:
I agree with @Minthyuyu it looks like the Zoi is arriving in e.g. Cahaya with his suitcase and the palms around him. Still a flight is taking off above him. So he dreams about escaping and going on holiday to a southern island.
May I suggest that rather than have one generic topic for all the “things we don’t understand in the game”, we could have separate topics for each. Because very soon this topic will get flooded with questions on various unrelated things and it will be difficult to unravel the thread spaghetti.
After all, this top level category “Q and A” is exactly that - “Questions and Answers about things we notice in the game”. So why create a subcategory under Q&A for the same thing?
So may I suggest that the title of this topic be changed to “Thought Bubbles and their meaning” or something appropriate that is short and meaningful, (as we have auto-translated multiple languages here).
Thank you for your support! I have changed it and hope it is now easily understandable in all languages. I really enjoy thinking about these things together with all of you and discovering the game. Especially after the upcoming update, I am sure it will become even more deep and immersive!
I’m starting to wonder if the game is trying to reform my criminal. It keeps sending this woman his way. I would never have created a woman like her for him, and yet they’re actually getting along really well right now
He just got this message from her, but why? Everything is working perfectly. Okay, she keeps thinking about getting married, while he doesn’t. He won’t marry her because he’s a rule-breaker. If he does, that’s the beginning of the end for him.

My master criminal who was robbing the bank every night - before the bug with the vault doors was introduced - ended up in marriage with his girlfriend. He bought a big villa from all the stolen money and financed her a sculpture & flower shop as her own business. Who knows, maybe this shop helps him laundering money Now he is a stay home dad and takes care of his toddler daugther during the day. And in the nights still he sometimes cannot leave it be and does a couple of robberies at Nooks or the surf shop. And somehow the storyline is fine for me. But you must know for yourself if you would be ok with your Zoi to become more a gentleman criminal or rather not
But I have one question: are they already living together? It looks like that as they seem to be part of the same household and also in the save file I checked for you they were part of the same household. If so, then the marriage probably is not far away anymore
I’ll be honest. Nothing happens after that message. I had teenage Zois dating and my Zoi got the message. Same with adult Zois. You can give a positive reply but as far as I know it has nothing to do with having to get married. My Zois are not living together and not married and were still fine after that weird message. This is what has been discussed in the forum for a while that some messages are completely out of context and cause some confusion x_x.
@EllaEstella eah, they already live together. I was actually thinking about having him flee to Cahaya with her and only let him get into trouble every now and then. As long as he doesn’t get the wish to get married, I’m not going to make it happen.
But she also went on a blind date, and I’m starting to think she might actually be better off with this Zoi. They’re completely into each other autonomously. Oh god, what am I supposed to do? Should I bring this guy into the household too? He’s homeless. Then everyone can head off to Cahaya together, with her best friend tagging along too.
Or you move the other guy in and try to keep both romantic relationships going for a while. She might even end up with Kids from both and they become a crazy patchwork family in Cahaya.
