Significant decrease in Wishes and missing Wishes related to low Needs

  • Game Version:
    Latest version available

    Platform:
    Steam – Windows

    Mods:
    Currently not using any mods

    Hardware and Operating System Specifications:

    Windows 11 Home 64-bit

    CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU
    RAM: 16 GB

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Launch the game using the latest available version.
    2. Play normally with one or more Zoi characters.
    3. Observe the Wishes that appear during gameplay.
    4. Let some of the Zoi’s Needs decrease to a low level.
    5. Observe the Wishes that appear when the Needs are low.

    Expected Result:

Wishes should appear regularly and consistently according to the Zoi’s current situation and Needs.

When one or more Needs become low, related Wishes should appear to encourage the Zoi to take care of those Needs.

    Actual Result:

Since the latest September update, there has been a significant decrease in the number of Wishes that appear.

Zois now have far fewer Wishes than before. In particular, Wishes related to low Needs no longer seem to appear when a Need becomes low.

There is therefore a noticeable overall decrease in the frequency of Wishes, as well as an apparent issue with the settings or conditions controlling when Wishes appear.

    Details:

This issue seems to have appeared since the latest September update.

Before this update, Wishes appeared much more frequently and could be related to the Zoi’s low Needs. Since the update, there are significantly fewer Wishes overall, and Wishes associated with low Needs seem to have disappeared completely.

It may be worth checking the Wish settings, their frequency, and the conditions that trigger them, especially the conditions for generating Wishes when a Zoi’s Needs become low.

Thank you for looking into this issue!

I have noticed lesser to no low-need wishes too, but I think that’s intended by the devs. Those were quite unnerving after a while IMHO. I haven’t experienced a lower wish frequency overall though

I also thought that was on purpose. I honestly found it kind of strange to “wish” for going to the bathroom or “wish” for taking a shower…xD

To me, those are normal needs and should not have so many extra wishes. I find it actually better like this, but I don’t know if it is a bug or not and obviously everyone sees it differently, but I like it this way too

I understand that you may prefer the current behavior, but that’s not really the point of my bug report.

I’m not only reporting the disappearance of Wishes related to low Needs. I’m mainly reporting a significant decrease in the overall frequency of Wishes since the September update, along with the apparent disappearance of some Wishes related to low Needs.

Whether this change was intentional or not is exactly what I would like the developers to verify. If it was intentional, then that’s fine, but if it wasn’t, it could be a bug or an unintended change to the settings or conditions controlling Wishes.

So I would prefer to keep the discussion focused on the potential technical issue rather than whether we personally prefer having Wishes related to Needs or not.

Thanks

But this was what @HeinziDerHeld also confirmed. That in his gameplay are no less wishes in general. I also can’t say that the wishes are less in general in my gameplay, to be honest. That is quite a peculiar bug then

Hello, I’m experiencing the same problem: I’ve noticed a decrease in my desires. Even excluding those related to needs, I only feel one or two per day. That’s too few to keep earning points.

Hi everyone (@here), thank you for clarifying your concern.

Wishes related to Needs were intentionally removed. As the variety of Wishes has expanded, we wanted Wishes to focus more on content-related experiences and activities, rather than prompting players to fulfill Needs that Zois can generally take care of on their own.

This change itself is not related to Zois having difficulty managing their Needs. If you notice that your Zoi is not properly taking care of their Needs, please submit it as a separate bug report with the relevant details so we can look into it further.

Thank you for your understanding and for taking the time to share your feedback!
