I think there are several things that could be improved in the restaurant system.
1. Queue and Waiting List
I think we need an option to enable or disable the waiting list. For example, if the restaurant is full and there are no tables available, it should be possible to temporarily close the list. Otherwise, Zois keep coming in, waiting, and talking to each other, which ends up creating quite a bit of chaos.
I also mentioned this in another post, but I think it would be important that customers couldn’t access the interior of the restaurant until they were seated, like in a real restaurant with reservations. They could wait in line or stay outside until the host shows them to their table.
2. Ingredient Preparation
I would like the “Prepare Ingredients” action to have a clearer purpose within restaurant management.
For example, there could be some kind of container, bar, or inventory indicator that shows the quantity of prepared ingredients and alerts when it’s necessary to prepare more so that orders can continue to be fulfilled. This way, this action would have a real function within the restaurant’s workflow and wouldn’t just be an isolated task.
3. Discounts, Invitations, and More Complete Meals
It would also be nice to have an option to give discounts to family members or acquaintances who visit our restaurant, for example through some kind of coupon.
And, if a special event or situation has occurred, it would be great to be able to invite an acquaintance for a drink or dessert. Since drinks have also been discussed in other posts, I think this could fit very well into the system.
Also, I hope that gradually more options can be added to the menus. I would like to be able to see my Zois enjoy a complete meal: appetizer, main course, dessert, and a drink, instead of the experience being limited to a single dish.
4. Waiting Icons Over Customers
Another thing that’s quite confusing to me is the organization of the icons that appear above customers’ heads.
Sometimes the orange waiting icon appears over Zois who have already been seated at their table and are simply waiting for their food, or over companions who are waiting while another member of the group is being served.
This makes it hard to know who has been served and who hasn’t, because they all seem to show the same status. You end up having to look at each customer individually to figure out what’s going on.
I think it would be much clearer if the icons or statuses were different depending on the situation: waiting to be served, waiting for a table, seated waiting for food, waiting for a companion, etc.
5. Service Speed
I also think that currently the service is too slow, especially in high-level restaurants.
Perhaps it would be interesting to be able to hire more workers or have more options to reorganize staff functions. Right now the system doesn’t seem to have all the efficiency it should.
6. Number of Workers in Luxury Restaurants
Also, I think four workers for a luxury restaurant are too few, or five if we count the operator.
This becomes especially evident when we want to leave the business running autonomously and dedicate ourselves to other activities in the game. In that case, the restaurant should be able to function properly without the player having to constantly intervene to solve staffing or service issues.
7. Operators in Multiple Businesses
Finally, I think it should be possible for a Zoi to be configured as an operator of multiple businesses at the same time, as long as their schedules don’t overlap.
For example, if I have a restaurant open from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and another open from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., it would make sense to be able to have the same Zoi as operator of both. Currently I have to manually change the configuration between one business and another, when really there would be no schedule conflict.
I think allowing an operator to manage multiple businesses with compatible schedules would make business management much more flexible and realistic.
I know these are quite a few suggestions, but I think they’re all related to the same idea: making the restaurant system more fluid, efficient, and realistic, and making management depend more on good organization than on constantly having to correct Zois’ behavior.
And please please, allow us to decide the clothing style for the premium restaurant, it’s not pleasant at all to see people in swimwear or sportswear in the restaurant
. My zoi has a luxury clothing store that many people in the city already use, it would be great if it could be chosen in businesses too
