First of all, I want to make it absolutely clear that I do not intend to disrespect South Korean culture in any way. I know that it is customary to have an ondol (floor heating) in homes and to sleep on the floor using a yo (mattress). However, this is not common in my own culture. For me, it feels like sleeping on the floor would be cold and drafty, which makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.
Because of this, I’ve been thinking about how to make the beds feel cozier. As a first attempt, I built a platform. The design isn’t fully finished yet, as I just wanted to test if it works first. The little one was able to get into bed without any issues. Do you have any other ideas?
It makes me even more sad, that the toddler basically goes to bed on its own. At least I couldn’t find a way to tuck the toddler into this bed. My toddler mostly sleeps against the big teddy bear now.
Your idea already looks cozy and cute. I wanted to check into the game tomorrow and also see how I can make this look more like a bed we’d use on the european end. NO CULTURE SHAMING FROM ME! I just imagined we’d get a crib similar to the one we have in the baby stage
I think the request for toddler beds has come up so many times that the developers couldn’t have missed it, and a more traditional bed will probably be added soon.
Then again, this reduces the autonomy of the little ones. Right now they can move around freely, and crawling into a high bed on their own would look very, very strange. They’re not monkeys who can nimbly jump up there 
So then we’d need to add the option to “ask to get into bed” and “ask to be taken out of bed onto the floor”. But that requires an active adult. And okay if we’re talking about a nanny, but what if it happens at night, the family is asleep, and I decide to play as the toddler? Wake up the sleeping family, just like with feeding and diaper changes?
Anyway, it would be nice to have, but honestly I actually like the current system. It has its own benefits in the form of minimal dependence of the child on outside help 
I kind of agree with you @Sephrenia and @Minthyuyu but I was also thinking about the point @Carnel made. The current version is of course very practical. Remember with Sims 2 and 3 there was always the need to get the toddlers into the crib and out of the crib and it was always exactly in the moment when your Sim was doing something else. Or if you had a bad babysitter they just left the child shout for hours in the crib and was not taking them out of the crib or the other way around.
So while I also feel that it looks strange for us as europeans it is still very practical.
I also like your suggestion @Minthyuyu - that would be the golden middle between both options. Or like we had it in Sims 4 if I remember correct as I was not playing Sims 4 too much - but I think we also had such small toddler beds where they were able to get in and out by themselves.

But we should ask @Sephrenia about this — won’t they look too low and cold for her? I’m already happy with everything as it is — I just melt when my little one flops down practically anywhere and falls asleep — it’s so lifelike! Kids are always like that: it’s like their battery drains at some point, and they just “power down”. And here it’s like she just switched off, and one of the adults came over and carefully covered her with a blanket so as not to disturb her with the carrier. Though they don’t wake up in those cases, of course And they don’t fall asleep so easily on a hard floor anyway — they want to be picked up first
I understand everything, but I like these game conventions. Not many people would want to have a constantly crying baby in the game.
I honestly think it would already look more appealing to me if there would be this small grid on three sides, one side open and with a mattress instead of a pillow-looking bed.
Plus that we can optionally tuck the toddler into that bed as a little “Good night” animation. Not removing the autonomy of the toddler to go into bed on its own, but to at least have the option to tuck the toddler in.
@Minthyuyu totally agree! That would be the best option. I also miss the part where the parents can bring the toddler into bed.
@Carnel I’m honestly just looking for ideas on what to make of what we already have. To me, it just doesn’t feel cozy. My son had a little crib with a bumper and a mobile. And he wore a sleep sack in the winter. That’s how I received it from my mother, and she from hers… Yes, he also had his play mat, and he fell asleep on that sometimes too, and who knows where else… but at night, he had his own bed with his music box.
I played a toddler for the first time and it was so cute when the toddler slept on that big teddy bear. So adorable! 
And with that, I also agree. The real life toddler flop is real xD.
I found an option that would basically let a small blanket-like pillow spawn and the toddler can fall asleep right there. That even happened outside of the house and the big brother just let it sleep outside xD.

Anyway, to put it in a completely honest and objective way… here in Italy only dogs and cats sleep on the floor (at most) 
So it’s not a matter of disrespect for anyone’s culture 
It’s just that for many people it’s something absurd and absolutely inappropriate. In any case, I doubt they won’t add cribs at some point
So I have nothing against it. I’m just thinking about what difficulties might come up with implementing this
Oh, my little one also crawls all over the yard and sleeps wherever she feels like — in the doorway, in the yard, by the pool… And it’s so cute that nothing bothers her! At Cahaya it’s always warm, so we’ve never had any problems with her sleeping outside
I think the fact that it can sleep anywhere is because the system isn’t fully developed yet and it’s a way to protect it or make it work quickly. I believe that in the future we will definitely have cribs and places where the baby can sleep.
That said, I think it’s great to have variety, that’s always welcome and mixing different objects from different cultures makes it much more dynamic
