This is a repost of my idea posted earlier in the official Discord.
Hi Kjun and the inZOI development team,
Building on the idea of a detailed vehicle ownership system, I would love to suggest the addition of dedicated physical shops for car maintenance and customization, similar to GT Auto in Gran Turismo or Los Santos Customs in Grand Theft Auto.
This would give Zois a way to personalize their rides and add realistic upkeep to the game. Here is how the mechanics could work:
Car Maintenance & Repair
- Routine Upkeep: Players can visit the shop to wash their cars and perform regular oil changes to maintain optimal vehicle performance. (EVs are exempt from oil changes)
- Damage & Overhauls: If a car takes mechanical or visual damage (or if a player buys a rundown used car), they can pay for a complete engine and body overhaul to restore it to perfect condition.
- Maintenance Skip (QoL Option): For players who find routine upkeep tedious, the shop could offer a premium, highly expensive “special oil additive.” Purchasing this luxury item would permanently negate the need for future oil changes on that specific vehicle.
Vehicle Customization
- Visual Modifications: A straightforward upgrade system allowing players to swap rims, install bodykits, and apply custom paint jobs.
- Importable Custom Decals: Allow players to place custom decals on their vehicles by utilizing the same external image import system currently used for custom clothing textures in “Create a Zoi.” This would open up limitless creative possibilities for vehicle liveries without needing complex in-game editors.
Giving players the ability to tune, repair, and visually customize their cars would be a fantastic money sink and a highly engaging way for Zois to express themselves.
Thank you again for considering community feedback!
