How do I add a patio outside connecting to the house without having the walls disappear or be destroyed?

I had a patio out front in the form of a platform connected to the house but it disappeared when I modified the home. How do I add a platform on the outside of the house that is connected to the house without the walls or windows being destroyed?

Do you mean sth like this?
I build them as a room connected to the house and then I delete the walls and the ceiling.
But I struggle a lot too because almost any object near a platform gets deleted everytime I add or delete a wall or platform -.-

Yep, just like that! I went ahead and attempted to add one, but it ended up destroying the walls and removing my windows and doors! x.x

Do the windows and doors also get deleted when you build a room where you want the patio to be?
But even if, the should be replaced relatively quickly(?)
I think with one of the last updates it’s now possible to place windows even when there are furniture/objects near them.
Before, I had to move everything away when I wanted to move or (re)place a window omg ^^’

The windows ended up staying in place, so I added a small wall with the wall tool to connect the walls together and the texture auto filled back to what I normally had. The doors and anything you have on the wall will disappear :frowning:. I had to replace my cabinets and redo all the textures, and replace all the wall decor. :psycat_lay:

But the patio works now as intended?
You can also raise it with the room selection tool and add stairs and handrails.

Yep! I can place furniture on it. It looks nicer than placing them on dirt. lol BUT if i raised the patio… I really want to raise the whole house up too with the patio… and have stairs leading up to the home to avoid the floods.
