I thought this mat had no function at all but I recently learned the interactions are locked behind the date event (?) It’s always too much of a hassle for me to interrupt gameplay with planning and performing through a date, so I never tried (plus my Zois are not ready to go on dates yet ^^’)
The only thing I’ve seen of this mat was a couple just lying there facing each other.
I just wanted to try what actually can be done with the picnic mat and wanted to plan a date for the first time (after playing 600+ hours omg ^^’)
But I neither can do that via the schedule
There also seems to be a cute couple interaction where you can buy something at the stands for your loved one but this is also only showing up when you have a date.
Maybe also give a hint what is possible with these objects because how is one supposed to know? And then people come and complain inZOI is lacking activities and such
I did think it weird that the picnic blanket couldn’t be used for an actual picnic. The interactions being gated behind a date event means that families or friends cannot use it, which is sadly limiting.
I do love the idea of more romantic interactions being possible too, though. And I agree that romantic interactions generally should be possible whether you are on a scheduled date or not.
It would be funny to see negative interactions on the picnic mat. What’s something people complain about with picnics? Ants! It doesn’t have to be all goofy like the Sims but an animation of your Zoi swatting away the little pests and gaining a negative moodlet.
Another bothersome nuisance to picnic goers are seagulls. Having a small chance of seagulls attacking you on your picnic would give a bit of spice the game needs.
