Game sound stops when I alt tab or use another application

Game sound stops when I alt tab or click on another window.

My PC has multiple screens, so I play in Windowed Fullscreen mode so I can easily access my other screens. When I click on another window or alt-tab to another window, the in-game music and other sounds stop. The music and sound comes back when I click on the game window again, making it the active application. Not only is this jarring to me, but as a live streamer I often need to interact with other applications during my stream, and doing so not only makes the sound abruptly stop for me, it also affects my stream.

This has always been the case with my game. I don’t remember a time the game audio didn’t cut out when I interacted with other windows. I suppose this is more of a feature request than a bug report.

Have you tried turning on the “Background Audio” setting in Game Options > Audio?

The setting at the bottom. Turning that on should make the audio stay on when switching tasks.

Hi there! It might not be related, but do you have the Nvidia app? It used to give me a lot of issues when alt-tabbing relating to sounds or screen freezing.

Thank you @LazyTaco for showing me the background audio setting. I wasn’t aware that existed. That appears to have fixed my issue.
