I have a couple of suggestions regarding the inventory system:
-
The current inventory is way to small and not possible to play with if you are heavy into collecting and crafting + farming. You will run over the limit within days. It should not have such a limit or there should be relevant storage boxes for the harvest and the collectibles and other stuff.
-
The current way the inventory works is too complicated from my perspective. You have to take every single item out of the inventory to then perform the intended action with it. Why not make the inventory items clickable with the possible actions for each item directly from inventory to save this unnecessary step to 1) click to take out, 2) wait until the Zoi holds it, 3) click on the Zoi for the wanted action and finally 4) see the Zoi to perform the action.

Multi-select for inventory items would also be great, especially if some kind of a storage system is in development. Also now if you want to sell your crafted tools, why not select all 4 or 6 of them from the inventory at once and place these on the sales table. This would save a lot of time and make the gameplay more comfortable.

A thousand times yes to all of these.

Seems that since November not much has changed regarding storage / inventory unfortunately… I had the huge inventory mod for a while but after the latest updates I took all mods out as otherwise the save files did not sync properly anymore.
Now playing a Zoi who is living from farming, collecting and crafting: it is really annoying. Her bag is permanently too heavy and gives her this negative moodlet.
I even found out that we can store vegetables in the fridge now… but… if you have a stack of 20 tomatos you have to take each single tomato out, wait until the Zoi is holding it, then and only then click on the fridge and order the Zoi to store it in fridge. You could spend a whole in game day storing all the harvested items in the fridge with this method.
Is there anything coming on this? At least some meaningful way where we can store all the harvested crops and all the collected materials without going one by one.

Also…
When fruit and vegetables are stored in the refrigerator, the zoi cannot use them directly for cooking. The player must first remove the fruit or vegetables from the refrigerator and place the items in the zoi’s bag.

You‘re right
Didn’t want to overdramatize and on day one you probably have not enough to harvest yet but later in the game one day is definitely enough to run over the 100 limit. And if you run over the 200 limit the Zoi is in a so displeased mood that nothing helps to bring him into another mood.

I once suggested a “Freezer” to store all of one family’s produce (and every member could cook from what is in the freezer)… The Idea did not gain traction and Devs never picked up on in.
+1 toi your idea and hope for the best

Now that I see that the flower shops will be implemented there is again one more reason why we need storage options or a larger inventory. I really don’t understand why this topic is nowhere on the to-do list and it does not seem to me being the most complex one to be implemented.
You will need to grow many flowers to run your shop and then to create the flower arrangements for sale. Seeing how fast your inventory with 100 slots is full after doing normal farming I think we all know what to expect.
You will not be able to have the same Zoi run a flower shop and do some normal farming at the same time. In that case the inventory will be always overfilled and your Zoi in constant displeased mood.
